These are great light treking shoes. I purchased the shoes for those trips you aren't necessarily doing heavy hiking but need some type of shoe that can take the wear of long hours of walking. Great support and comfort. The only issue that I find with the shoes is that after wearing the shoes for 8-10 hours, I can feel the shoes pinching in at the sides. I have never been known to have wide feet, so I'm unsure as to why this happens. Either way, great looking shoe for great comfort and price.

Is the size of these shoes the US size or the UK size?

I've been a longtime wearer of Chaco sandals and wanted something with a little more coverage for day hiking. These are perfect. Same great Chaco support, yet with good coverage. They're perfect for walkabouts.

These are exactly like wearing the sandals. The arch support is excellent, even on really long hikes. They're lightweight but supportive. My only gripe is the speed lacing, but it seems to be a trend right now. It often makes getting thick socks into shoes quite difficult. I see the appeal for kids, but it's not always desireable for grownups. Still, great shoes. And true to size.
