MSR Fuel Bottles

MSR made their Fuel Bottle from a single piece of aluminum and added an air-tight seal so there's less leaking and cracking. The Fuel Bottle works with the threaded pumps on your MSR stove. Holes in the shaft of the bottle cap prevent spills and provide more controlled pouring capabilities. You can store and transport your MSR fuel pump in the Fuel Bottle once the bottle is depressurized.

Bottom Line: MSR designed these long-life Fuel Bottles for heavy use in rugged terrain.

22oz

By:
September 16, 2008

Just the right amount of fuel for me to use one bottle to heat a little water for breakfast and dinner for a week or more (summer use/low elevation). It is a bottle with a cool brand name on it and the cap/o-ring is durable.

33 oz bottle is approx 11.25" to top of cap. There is a fill line on the bottle that recommends not filling with more than 30 oz of gas.

Tough and useful

These bottles will last until you loose them- there's no way of breaking them. Also cheaper than other brands. The cap has a big loop for clipping it to your backpack and also two small holes inside to handle the fuel without spilling. In Aconcagu the porters use mules to get your stuff to BC, this is your best option, no leaks at all. Hope this helps.

The three different sizes are great. The hole on the top is good for putting a strap through to make sure it doesn't fall off my bag as I like to carry fuel on the out side of my bag. The top seals great and have never had a leak. Super durable being banged around and dropped.

I used them on a recent 30 day paddling trip and 2 of the large bottles worked just fine. Great bottles.

I did just that, hiked with my whisperlite fuel pump in the canister, held exactly as you said in an external side pocket on my pack for 26 days and had no problem. No breakage. Is that recommended? Not sure. With my experience, all worked fine. Happy trails.

Pack It & Forget It

Not only are these fuel bottles strong, they don't leak even with a pump attached. They also hold a lot of pressure without bulging out the bottom. When I use my gas/kerosene stoves, these bottles carry my fuel without worry.

Bomber Fuel Bottle

If you need to carry liquid fuel, these bottles are the only way to go. I have never broken one before I lost it. Sometimes if you let them sit for too long, they can be tough to open.

Just the right size for solo outings or even a couple of days with a small group if you're not melting snow.

No worries with this bottle

I have one of these that is 10 years old. The only problem I have ever had is the O ring cracked and started to break. Even with the cracking it never leaked. I replaced it and it is as good as new. I do like the newer bottles for their superior top. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with this fuel bottle

Takes a beating

By:
June 15, 2006

I have kicked the crud out of mine, there's just no killing them. A water bottle sleeve (neoprene type) or a couple quick turns of duct tape help keep it from slipping around on rocks and ice, which solves my only complaint. A micro-bungie connecting it to my Trillium helps a lot too.

Out of mind

Never in years of camping/backpacking/skiing, have I ever even considered the possibility of any trouble in regards to this fuel bottle. Its 22oz holds 2-3 days of cooking/snow-melting fuel for two or three people. Bomber and-a-half.
