Best Camper Pillow

By:

I used this on my trek through Central America. Its probably the nicest camper pillow I've ever owned. It stuffs down to a small size, but open it up, give a few minutes to expand, and it works great! It definitely supports my achy neck better than any other camper pillow I've purchased.

Not like the pillow in your bed but certainly a luxury. I camp from my motorcycle so its plenty small enough and beats the heck out of waking up with a sore neck.

NEEDED IT / LIKE IT

I agree that a pillow in the back country is a luxury; but having had a neck injury from a bad fall in my past, I found my self continuously using boots, fuel bottles wrapped in my polar fleece, or anything else I could fanagle to get a good neutral plane for my neck alignment in order to get enough rest and to not wake up with a headache. The thermarest has really helped. Nice and light. Good compression. For me, it is a must in order to stay out longer and feel better doing it.

A must have! Easy to wash, easy to pack, wonderful companion for long trips. I even used it as my regular pillow when I was in Nepal and India... The medium size is perfect.

Best Travelling Buddy

The Thermarest Pack Pillow has been fantastic on many of my trips where I find myself lacking a suitable pillow. Operating instructions: Just loosen up, beat the crap out of it, and wait 15 minutes before crashing for optimal fluffage. Medium is my optimal size (strictly carry-on bags/size+weight ratio), your mileage may vary. Maintenance + care: When you're not too busy beating it, just be sure to wash it every now and then. Please be considerate of your pillow's feelings and use a front-loading washer if possible. Fluffageability remains constant even after frequent purgings.

Luxury for sure

Having a pillow while camping is definitely a luxury. I thought the pillow would be a little bigger... but after trying it worked well!

Good Night's Sleep

By:

If you're going to pack in a pillow, this is a good one. Remains firm & comfortable throughout the night . Compresses tightly & packs in my sleeping bag stuff sack. My medium weighs a slightly heavy 9oz. Invest in a good night's sleep.

I LOVED this pillow! Great addition to my camping gear. Slept like a baby every night without the uncomfortable neck pain I usually have. Packs up small, fluffs out nicely. Awesome!

Too my surprise, NOT TOO SOFT!

By:
August 20, 2008

I admit it, I'm a pillow snob. Off the trail I employ a super-firm memory foam Cadillac-Class pillow. Most commercial pillows are too soft for my taste, and feather pillows are just plain uncomfortable. I was skeptical of any trail pillow, but there had to be some improvement available to best my rolled up fleece in a stuff sack. Oh baby, come to daddy! This pillow honors the therm-a-rest brand with a head cradling solution that weighs nearly nothing, rolls up small, yet demands little compromise in comfort to a standard pillow. Give it a little fluffing after unrolling, and let it sit a while to poof up to full loft. Come crash time, it'll be ready to rest your tired head. Like my therm-a-rest pad, I find it best to store the pillow unrolled when not in use to shorten 'poof time.' It's probably better for the fill too. Give it a try goldilocks, you'll be glad you did!

Finally, a comfy pillow

By:
August 19, 2008

This is the best backpacking pillow I have tried - and I have tried a bunch. This pillow seems to be filled with crumbled-up Therm-a-Rest foam, so it fluffs itself up after you unroll it. I still put a rolled-up jacket under it to get the right height, but the pillow keeps its shape and stays fabulously comfortable all night long, all week long. Worth the money, the weight, and the space.

This Pillow is Awesome

By:

The title says it all. This Pillow is Awesome. I used this pillow for a week of tent camping and it was awesome. I can't believe how nice it compacts and then it fluffs up in a matter of minutes. This pillow kept its firmness all night long. It is well worth the money.

Awesome Pillow

This pillow is amazing. It's hard to believe it fluffs up just like a regular pillow and keeps it's firmness. We have used it about 4 times now and it still has kept it's shape.

great camping pillow

By:
May 27, 2008

I've tried a number of other types of camping pillows and this one is the best. When you first look at it, it doesn't seem to have much loft. You just have to puff it up for a minute then let it sit a bit and it gets super puffy. Great for car camping and compresses small enough to use for backpacking if space isn't too tight.
