MSR Hydromedary Hydration Bag

MSR Hydromedary Hydration Bag
The newly-designed Hydromedary Bags are MSR's most durable hydration systems. MSR built the Hydromedary Bag out of tough 200D cordura to take the abuse of the trail. These Hydromedary Bags come complete with a drink tube, a high-flow no-leak bite valve, and a low-profile easy-fill handle. Slip a Hydromedary Bag in your backpack for an instant hands-free hydration system.
Bottom Line: Turn water into liquid gold for your dehydrated body with MSR Hydromedary Hydration Bags.

I have it for three years and it is the only hydration bag that have a big flow of water!
I fracture my tooths. and it's the only valve that can stend it :)
the bag is very durable
the only flaw is when I use it in my 70L big bag and staf start pressure on it it can leak from time to time even from a clouse valve. and I need to make sure that the bag face down.
I will still buy it again!!!

I have a MSR Miniworks EX water filter which has an adapter for Nalgene bottles. Does the adapter work on this bag as well? From the picture above, it looks like it might be the same kind of opening as a Nalgene.

I personally don't have one of those filters, but I've seen reviews of these bags on other sites that have mentioned using them together easily.

Any bottle or bag with a 64mm opening will work. Nalgene was the first to standardize this, calling it their 'wide-mouth' bottle. You will find the 64mm 'wide-mouth' on many bottles from stainless steel, to aluminum, to various polyurethane and lexan-type bottles. The best thing about the Hydromedary, Dromlite, and Dromedary bags is that they will hold much more water at a significantly reduced packed weight and volume. By getting the Spigot Lid accessory, you can turn your hydration system or folding bottle into a camp sink. It is extremely versatile to have around camp. Highly recommended!

Twisted

It's durable, doesn't taste like plastic, is easy to fill and clean...I love this thing! The polyurethane lining is bittersweet. It keeps the tube from cracking in the winter but mine got twisted where the tube stems from the bladder. After I pulled it apart to untwist it, I couldn't get the darn thing back together! As long as you keep it from twisting, this puppy is a work of art!
I lost the lid. How do I get another one?

I would just give MSR a call at (800) 531-9531 and I am sure they would be able to work something out with you.

Some supply stores carry them; I know Backcountry Experience in Durango, CO does.

That's the problem!

I used this bladder for five months of intensive hiking and loved it. Then the same thing (exactly) that happened to the reviewer "Twisted" happened to me. "After I pulled it apart to untwist it, I couldn't get the darn thing back together! " It is now useless. This is a major design flaw. Beware.
What is the handle like? I need to know if it is going to hang
What is the handle like? I need to know if it is going to hang from the H2O clip in my backpack. The picture doesn't show where the handle is or how it is on the bag. Is it on the two holes on each corner of the bag? Thanks

There is no handle, you're not supposed to hang it. It's supposed to work like a Camelbak bladder and go in the back of your pack. You could thread a piece of string through the holes if you wanted to, but that's not the primary use.

Most Durable Hydration System on the Market

For all backpacks with an internal hydration pocket, the extra durability of the MSR Hydromedary is key. MSR's standard size cap is easy to open and assures a tight seal. Highly recommended.

Sweet Bladder

I'm stoked for this bladder, I've had others and so far this has the least amount of plastic taste, it seems durable and the bite valve works well. I highly recommend it.
like a hydration pack, except you can pick the backpack.

I use this around camp, in a day pack, or in my full pack. It is fairly durable and has a long tube so you can turn any backpack into a hydration pack.
Super strong and no residue left in water

I have used Camelbacks for years and they have done the job, but this hydration bladder by MSR tops the list. Never worried about it tearing or popping, the water comes out very easily and am yet to experience any leaks.
