This bladder does the trick.
Plenty of capacity for a shorter day hike or a trail run. Solid construction. Basic bite valve that works like a charm. Easy to fill, cap secures with no leaks and a breeze to clean with the wide opening. Overall I'm a fan. If you want a bladder to replace one you had and lost (doh!) or just want a bladder to throw in a bag this is a go-to choice.

So i used to be water bottle only guy. I avoided bladders like the plague. I didn't want all my stuff to get soaked when the bladder inevitable leaked. then i got this bladder after much struggling and research. Now i am a convert to the bladder hydration system. I drank more watter more often and had to stop less to drink. On my Bike it's killer. No more fighting the bottle cage to get out my bottle. I will still take at least one Lexan style bottle on every back country trip but i will also take my bladder.

The CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir is great - just what you would expect from Camelbak: simple, durable and most importantly, it won't make your water taste like plastic! Highly recommended.

If you keep the tube in the freezer it NEVER goes moldy ... Gatorade and beer - no problem!

I was very pleased with the new camelbak, but in retrospect I should have gone with a bigger size. 50 oz seemed like plenty at the time, especially because I wanted to save a dollar or two. I would buy the biggest size available if I could do it over again! If you're worried about the weight, just don't fill it as full.

I purchased this hydration bladder to replace another one I was struggling with. Previously I was struggling to get enough water into me, but with this bladder I am able to hydrate easily and haven't had a single problem.
Be aware the tech specs says it's a locking bite valve, however mine did not have a lock when it arrived. Luckily I'd had also bought the Hydrolock which is fabulous.
I highly recommend this bladder.

This was my first hydration bladder and I have to say I really like it. The opening is really big so it's super easy to fill without making a mess and it's easy to wash out and dry. With the tube trap and hydrolock the bitevalve stayed in one place and didn't drip at all. Very convenient hydration for my hiking trips.

This is the one I use after trying many others. The water tastes good and it fits well in my pack. I use it with my The North Face Catalyst pack and have no complaints.

Definitely the way to go. Might freeze up at higher elevations or in colder temps, but awesome for hiking.

From the three brands I've tested I like this one the best. It Drips less. I might add I added to it the 90degree angle with shut off valve, and the Big Bite mouth piece. Water tastes great from it. The only downside is the large Fill Opening. I'm not what I consider weak, but it makes my fingers sore opening the thing. It always opens but seems to take much more effort than i think would be necessary, Also opening size would have been handy to standardize it to Nalgene/MSR size for my water filter.

how do u clean the Hydration Reservoir clean?
Flag
The best way to keep it clean is to wash it with warm water and mild soap (like dish soap), then rinse it with clean water as soon as you are done using it. The Camelbak brushes are designed to fit the nooks and crannies of their reservoirs, but you can use a regular sponge if you need to. Either fill it up with clean water and toss it in the fridge or prop it open to dry. The Camelbak drying tool works really well and is worth the money. If you really don't want to invest in one, you can also stuff it loosely with newspaper until it's dry. If you don't, it WILL mildew. Use cleaning tablets or 1 tbsp bleach diluted with 1 liter of water about once a month if you use your reservoir regularly, or at least at the end of the season if you only use it once in a while.

whats the best way to keep hydration system clean
Flag
First of all, putting only water i it will help. Gatorade, juice or beer (yes it works great at college but makes the bladder nasty) will not be the best for the bladder. I also flush the tube out so there is not water left in it after use. I Let is air dry and sometime scrub the inside with a brush. Item numbers: CAM0241, CAM0240 and CAM0074 will help.

This in my experience is the best Reservoir out their. It is simple and effective. I have had experience with many other brands and have had/seen many problems with leaks, rubber taisting water, faulty lids, etc. and have never had or seen any problems with this product. The insulated tube (sold seperately) is also a very worth while investment. No more warm water the first couple gulps!

How do you know what size reservoir to buy with your backpack?
Flag
Get the largest one that will fit in your pack. An empty reservoir takes up almost no space, and a 3 liter reservoir with 2 liters of water in it takes up almost no more space (and weighs little more) than a full 2 liter reservoir. Get the largest one your sleeve will hold, then fill it to an appropriate level for whatever the current need is. Most on-line listings or pack manuals will list the size reservoir that a particular pack's sleeve will accomodate. If not, contact the manufacturer and ask.

Yeah the smaller bladder is great! I got this to go in my Dakine Heli pack, which is smaller than the Heli Pro pack. The 1 liter is perfect for short trips or skiing in bounds days.

Camelbaks are great and easy to use. I did fork up another 6 bucks and bought the valve which helped to regulate water flow but otherwise great product. Like with any other of these reserviors, you will have some slight rubbery after taste but not harmful and goes away after mulitple uses.

This bladder is durable an well made. I don't think I could pop this thing if I wanted to. Compatible with so many packs, why not stay hydrated? I got the 100oz. I don't always fill it to capacity. Make sure you clean it often and don't let Gatorade sit in it for a few months...oops. Mouthpiece design is good too. It only lets water out when you want water to come out.

It's a really great reservoir. holds 3 liters of fluid! I like the flavored tablets that Camelbak are offering to help give the water a new taste.

Bought the 72 oz. to go in the BD Avalung 22L. Though the short/fat dimensions may not work, but it fits perfectly.

I don't have much luck with these things. No matter how tight I tighten the screw-top, it always finds a way to leak - albeit a little. I think it's because the O-ring on the inside isn't super tight.
But besides a tiny bit of leakage, this thing works fine. Simple, no frills.
It doesn't affect the taste of the water and it is easy to fill

Typical CamelBack, using it for internal pocket for Backpacking. Wish it had the on/off valve with the bite piece. No funky smell and always nice to carry more H20 than needed to be safe.

With this baby, you only need one size. The wide mouth makes this Omega HydroTanium Reservoir easy to fill, and it is a great size for anything from mountain biking to a weekend backpack trip (bring refills or a water filter if you're going for a weekend ...).

I love this bladder. It is very easy to fill and I can easily switch it between my backpacks. The lid isn't hard to get off as long as I don't tighten it too much and it has never leaked.

Easy to fill, easy to use! This new version of their classic reservoir is puncture resistant, has an anti-microbial agent in the resin, and the cap is even easier to open and close. Don't settle for a substitute, go with an original- Camelbak!

I have 3 hydration backpacks and this reservoir is the best of the 3. I prefer it over the others because this one is more flexible, resists bacteria and is very simple to use. I've tried others that are clear plastic and don't bend or stretch as easily as the Camelbak. Also, the bite-valve is better than others. Some bite-valves are larger and have a "lock" or "on/off" ability which makes the valve larger (and harder to fit through holes) and confusing to use. I would recommend the Camelbak Omega HydroTanium Reservoir to anyone who wants ease of use and long-lasting durability.

After owning a nalgene hydration pack that broke and leaked so easily, this is like heaven. This camelbak hydration pack is worth every penny, plus more. It is sturdy and I never worry about leaking. Yay!

Somehow I got a hole in my old Camelback, and I needed a new one. This was a perfect replacement. I love the wider opening for putting ice in and cleaning.

This is awesome, I leave this reservoir chilling in my car for a week, and it does not get all gross and smelly at all! I take it everywhere with me. It is rad. The only thing that sucks about it, when you are super thirsty and just wanna chug, it does take a lot of sucking power to get water ... no chugging at all!

These reservoirs are so much nicer than they used to be -- definitely worth an upgrade if you're still using the old kind with the tiny opening.
You can choose from several sizes, just know that the one in the picture represents the larger sizes. The small ones are square.

I have an old Camelbak that came with the old, narrow-mouth design. I decided to upgrade to this one because I was tired of the ten minute ritual of cleaning and drying the bladder after each use. I am not sorry about my choice. I can get in there to clean and dry it better. I can put ice in more than a cube at a time. The best part is the handle. It makes filling easy. I have had my old bladder for six-plus years, and it was still going strong. I expect similar service from this one.

The bladder is nice, strong, bacteria-resistant, and lightweight. However, the cap is really annoying. It's nice that it’s very large (for easy cleaning and adding things like ice), but it is extremely difficult to tighten correctly. You have to really crank down on it so it doesn't leak, but then it is really hard to loosen again. Not fun when your fingers are cold, I can tell you. It's hard to twist because of the way it is recessed, so you have to use your fingertips instead of your palm.
