Burton Hail Snowboard Boot - Men's

Lace up Burton's skate-inspired Men's Hail Snowboard Boot, storm the terrain park, and watch everyone run for cover. The Hail's articulating cuff gives this medium-flex freestyle boot two distinct flex zones for forward mobility, increased response, and better heel hold. The super-light outsole features integrated air cushioning to absorb tremendous amounts of shock on rail hits and big drops without sacrificing board feel. The Hail's heat-moldable EVA footbed supports and cushions your foot, while ESS shanks increase response. The new Hail Snowboard Boots feature special rubber soles that harden to form traction-enhancing spikes in freezing temps. *Available for US Shipment Only.

Bottom Line: Burton's Hail Snowboard Boots give you a natural feel and tons of slop-free agility in the park.

I was wondering about the air shocks in the heel. Are they rugged enough to handle day after day of relentless beatintgs.I've had some bad experiences with boots like this. Other than that one downfall, I'm impressed.

chris- i weigh about 200 pounds, and have taken huge hits with these boots and have encountered no issues with the air in the heels. they're not like the first pair of nike airs where the bladder was bulging out of the sides of the shoe. you don't even notice it, until you notice that your landing didn't hurt as bad as you were expecting!

These boots are the best boots I've found for the price! I matched them with some Burton bindings with the high-backs and they feel great.

Awkward Fit For My Feet

By:
December 15, 2008

I got the 2008 model of the Hail. Now Burton may have made some improvement to the boots fpr 2009, but for the shape of my feet they didn't fit that well. I tried them twice on the mountain and while they did there job I think they could have been better. I am sure for most people these boots fit great, but for me they started to make my feet hurt. I also got some heel lift and If I tightened them up they started to really pinch the lower part of my feet. They may have been a half size too small. I have no beef with the construction of the boot. I am just writing this review to let people know that this is a boot that you may have to buy a half size up and that the shape may not fit some peoples feet that well. Other than that, pretty cool boot.

haven't used these on mountain yet..

but after trying on some rides that were comfy but too flexible, then a few different pairs of 32 boots that fit awful, I tried on the hails and they were a perfect fit. felt snug in all the right places and were overall a perfect fit. Fairly stiff but with good flex points. A little bit more expensive than I would like but you can feel the difference over cheaper boots.

These are the best boots by far they are great for park but also do very well in the deep stuff. I am a Jersey rider so most of my riding is in the park conditions, but these boots did hold up very well when I went out to Whistler and hit up the Gnar chutes

soft jib boot, just don't expect much support

By:
September 21, 2008

contrary to what the anonymous reviewer has stated above, the hail is a completely soft jib/park/street boot... i doubt he knows what a stiff freeride boot actually feels like if he is labeling these as stiff... the hail is definitely comfy, but they will no doubt pack out because of how much flex and softness the liner has; expecially for '09, as burton has switched the hail from their imprint liner line to their new park series liners (should be even softer and flexier this season)... again, i can't stress enough how UN-freeride these boots are... but take these for a spin in the park, and you most likely will not be disappointed by the hail's comfort and tweakability...

Great

By:

Burton makes such a comfortable boot. I don't quite get the velcro strap in the front though. Can probably do without it, but the boot rocks. I've always been told you have to suffer a few days breaking in a new pair of boots, but definitely not these. Love them. Comfortable from day 1.

great boots

By:
March 15, 2008

excellent boots. took em up to whistler during christmas and they were fantastic through all the rough runs and moguls. great control, very warm, very comfy. just don't tie them too tight. took me a day or so to break em in but after that they were fantastic. not sure wat everyone says about how flexible they are though...don't be mistaken, these are FREERIDE boots, which means they are pretty stiff. sure they flex, but by NO MEANS are the freestyle flexible boots. if u buy these, u better my some med-strong stiff bindings (i got burton c60's) otherwise your jus settin urself back. once again, these are not for the park or any freestyle, they jus don't flex that much. but other than that, they are FANTASTIC boots, DEFINATELY worth the price tag. let me know if u got any questions.

These boots are great. They're very streamlined, so my 10.5s have the bulk of a regular 9.5. They're increadibly comfortable, my feet don't hurt anymore! The lacing system kinda sucks, but the flex and comfort makes up for it.

extremely comfortable boots

By:
January 20, 2008

these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn ... the cushioning and shock absorbing sole is great, I feel like I'm walking on an air cushion. the only problem is I haven't been able to figure out how to keep the laces and straps from loosening up a little.

I wish I knew if the gear was good.

By:
January 12, 2008

I ordered the boots as a set to include the board and bindings. Got the board looks good. Got a bag for the board, that looks good too. But no boots or bindings. So I talk to customer service. They say they will fix it. I get the boots two weeks later. They look good. NO BINDINGS!! Halfway through the season can't use my stuff. SO, like the title says, I WISH I KNEW IF MY GEAR WAS GOOD!

Hail mens snowboard boots

By:
January 2, 2008

Son loved the boots. Ultra comfortable and warm. Wondered why they put in the extra laces, but either it was a fluke or by necessity- the laces ripped after only about 7 runs- his bindings might be rubbing them though. Either way, it was a great purchase for the money. Would recommend highly!!!

Great Boots, Amazing Comfort

By:
October 22, 2007

I got these boots last year after my old boots started hurting my feet and the back of my calfs. i tryed on a bunch of boots in the store and as soon as i tried these of my feet felt relief. My toes used to get cold sometimes with the Hail they never get cold. On the snow these boots make riding a lot easier. They support your anckles great so turning is effortless. Along those same lines you can continue a turn through some bumps an not get any jolting in your anckles. I love these boots.
