Burton Wheelie Gig Bag

Stash your quiver in the Burton Wheelie Gig Bag and get ready to surf the pow or ride the rails. This rolling snowboard bag holds two planks (with bindings removed) so you're set for whatever snow conditions you encounter. If you're only traveling with one board, pack the board with bindings attached in the Wheelie Gig Bag. Full padding protects your boards, so you don't have to give the baggage handlers threatening looks, and an outer boot/binding pocket holds extra gear. Thanks to the custom skate wheel assembly, it's easy to roll the Burton Wheelie Bag through the airport, across the parking lot, and into the ski lodge. The zipper pulls fit TSA-approved locks (not included). *Available for US shipment only.

Bottom Line: The Burton Wheelie Gig Bag holds two snowboards or one board with bindings for your shredding vacations.

Incredible Board Bag!

By:
May 16, 2008

I traveled to Mt Hood this season with this bag. I was able to put my board, 2 sets of outerwear, boots, helmet, gloves, and 2 soft shells and tools in the front pocket of the bag. It held everything, and was under weight for the airlines. I cannot tell you how I wish I would have had this last season when I flew to ride. If you are looking for a solid but economic board bag, this is the one you want.

My first board bag

By:

It's incredible -I can put my trashed board with bindings, stinky boots, dirty underwear in and just let it roll behind me and I still have style in the airport, thanks to the color prints!

Solid Bag

By:

Bought this bag recently and have done some traveling with it already. Overall, looks to me like it was built very well and shows little sign of abuse after a few flights... nice beefy zippers and stitching. Has all the handles you could need including the shoulder strap which is well padded and comes off quickly when you check it. Loved the wheels getting around airports and parking lots. To give you an idea of what it can hold, i carried the following on my last trip with it (166 bag)... 164 wide board with cartel bindings on the board (cant get a much larger set-up), 1 pair of boots, 1 pair of riding pants (beefy ronins), 2 jackets... 1 regular shell and 1 big insulated shell, 1 normal zip-up fleece, all my socks & boxers (riding & regular), 2 pairs of gloves... 1 spring & 1 pair of big fluffy primaloft mitts, 2 different sets of thermals, goggles w/ extra lens, a few tools, a couple toques, 1 beacon and the all important flask of locally distilled moonshine. one flight i added a 6-pack of tasty red nectar (carefully placed between the bindings in some thermals) with no issues and they came off the plane unscathed and ready to schwill !! If you wanted to you could downsize the clothes you are carrying and take an extra deck and all your backcountry gear. I chose this one over the dakine low roller b/c it was wider and taller which may have been the difference in getting a wide board with the skyback cartels and all this gear in it. Would definately recommend this bag to others. The only thing i would add would be some extra zippered pockets on the inside of the bag... but at $90 im not complaining. very solid all around board bag.

great back for a weekend or longer

By:
March 5, 2008

This bag worked perfect for an extended weekend trip. I was able to fit my board, boots, jacket, pants, gloves, helmet, etc.. So for a 4 day trip the only other bag I had to bring was my carry on backpack. It made it through both flights without dents or dings. It was easy to roll through the terminals, and the camo print made it easy to spot as soon as it was unloaded. The only thing I would have wanted differently would have been zippered boot pockets with external access. But it didn't bother me too much because usually you are opening the bag to get your board out anyway. WOuld recommend this bag to anyone for the price.

I was pleased with how much room this bag had inside. When I finished packing my bags and still had alot of Italian wine the extra room in the bag allowed me to fit all of it.

The best roadtrip companion out there

By:
January 13, 2008

I just spent 8 days in Japan with this bag; it held board and bindings, boots, jacket, 2 x riding pants, goggles, gloves etc, and my clothes for the week. Which meant all I needed was a day pack for the flight. It seems durable enough, came through the baggage handling gauntlet unscathed, the wheels make life easy trekking through airport and train terminals, and the colour scheme makes it simple to track it's movements on the carousel. It met all of my expectations.

Good times

This bag is great, I got the wheels and my friend got the straight gig-bag. The wheels are a HUGE plus, more than worth the extra $60. My bag is a bit big. I started to exchange it (my board is a 152 and my bag a 166) but the service rep told me a story about how his board was broken in half by an airline and that getting an oversize bag, and stuffing around the board ends with padding (jackets and other gear work great and are nice to have separated when covered in snow anyway)has protected his decks since then. Worked for me on 4 flights, so it seems like a good bit of advice.

Should have bought the Dakine Low Roller!!!

By:
December 28, 2007

This bag does not have the stretch sides and holds a little less than what I hoped it would. I thought that it would have outside zippers for being able to access your boots without opening the bag itself. I also wish they would have put the support strips on the bag of the bag so your boards don't have to add all the support. I bought the Dakine Low Roller bag for my girlfriend and when I saw it I thought about sending my Burton Bag back. I would give it a 7-10. I do know that it was built to take a beating as do all my Burton bags I have owned over the lat 10 plus years!!!

Awesome... Just awesome.

Great bag, you would think the bag would be made out of flimsy stuff that rips easily, but the inside is lined in tarp that is really durable... there's even a little pocket to shove your gloves in... Two boards and one binding set up can fit in here too... Graphics are great! And the wheels really help in the airport.

burton gig bag

buying a bag on wheels is the smartest thing i have ever done. tons of space for an affordable price. it steers a little slow in those tight radius cambered corners the air port can throw atcha, but it beats the hell out of a tired shoulder.
