Burton AK BK Insulator Jacket - Men's

Layer the Burton Men's AK BK Insulator under your shell for no-frills, lightweight warmth. This insulating jacket's Primaloft insulation keeps your upper-body cozy without limiting your mobility in the terrain park. The AK BK Insulator Jacket's full length pitzips match those on your shell jacket for quick, efficient ventilation during strenuous hikes. In cold, clear weather or on the street, wear this Burton insulating layer by itself. A chest pocket and fleece-lined handwarmer pockets provide a place to stash your iPod and warm up cold hands. *Available for US Shipment only.

Bottom Line: Heat up your layering system with the Burton AK BK Insulator Jacket.

Great Mid-Weight

By:

comfortable and stylish, great mid-weight jacket which I also bought to replace an older AK fleece which has seen a lot of wear. Although I bought this late in the season and have not taken it to the extremes, I can say that it works really well in mild, slightly rainy and cooler temperatures around town and outdoors. Seems to be relatively water-repellent, but I wouldn't expect it to work like Gore-Tex because it is not. Great for layering! the pit zips are a great added feature- and I especially like the zippers coming from both directions on this year's AK line. I prefer the taller collar- no hood. I also like the diagonally zippered chest pocket- easy access.

Way cool err warm....

I got this jacket (Black) as replacement for my 2003 AK Insulator, it's feather light, wind/waterproof, warm and looks good well fitted. I'm 6ft tall, 155lbs I got the medium size, but I would be hard pushed to wear thicker layers under this. Burton sizes come up a little on the large size, so you may want to check the sizing before buying. Not sure if I would wear this on the slopes, a better apres board/street jacket. Overall I would recommend this jacket.

Nice Jacket

This insulating layer is nice. If you plan on using it as a stand alone jacket, it's kind of plain, but it is very functional. Works well to block the wind too.

Nice!

The insulator is light and perfect for layering. Goes well well with the Burton 3L Hover Jacket, and quite fashinable too. it can be worn on sunny days when on the slopes or out on the town. The only thing that grinds my gears is that the lining is white instead of gray like pictured on the Burton catalog. I know it's shown as white online, but white doesn't hide the sweat real well. Still a good jacket though.
