Burton AK Clutch Glove - Men's

Look to the Burton Men's AK Clutch Glove for finger melting warmth and superb dexterity. A Gore-Tex insert makes these Burton softshell gloves waterproof enough to handle the gnarliest of winter storms, and Thermacore insulation adds warmth for extremely frigid days on the hill. In warmer conditions or on strenuous hikes, the AK Clutch glove's microfiber lining wicks moisture away from your hands. Burton gave this insulated glove pre-curved fingers, a supple leather palm, and stretchy fabric to provide enough dexterity for extended grabs.

Bottom Line: Count on the Burton AK Clutch gloves in cold, nasty weather conditions when you still need good dexterity.

Great

Good looking, waterproof gloves that perform wonderfully for about a season. If you ski the rubber from your poles will rip the thumbs and they will no longer be waterproof after a year in wet or hard riding. Be prepared to get props from the jealous public.

Fancy

Nice and fancy gloves, breathable but I must admit they get wet pretty quick if snow is melting during sunny days, I bought them for cheap so I won't complain plus they protect well from cold but I won't say that they're really technical and extreme conditions gloves...

Not Bad

They look good, are cozy, and have a high quality construction. They fit a bit tight, but the low profile fit was what I wanted. They come with wax for waterproofing. I didn't use the wax and they started soaking through the leather on the third trip. I haven't put the wax on yet, so I can't vouch for whether it prevents the soaking I've seen.

Great Glove with one small flaw

This is the second pair of AK clutch gloves that I have owned (the previous pair was stolen), and they are by far the best gloves that I have ever owned. They are completely waterproof, very comfy, and will keep your hand's warm at very cold temperatures. The only problem is that this year's model does not include what I call "idiot straps" (last year's model included them); the elastic bands that go around your wrist so you can take your gloves off without fear of losing them.

Not very warm

Good looks, bad warmth. After 3 hours of carving it hardly got wet and made the insulation feel cold. Fingers got cold really fast. Still good gloves :)

A Clutch that never needs replacing!

This year I was lookin for something that I could use all year round and at every mountain I rode. This glove is perfect for bombin around on your local slope to riding aloft powder in the glades. I highly recommend using the NixWax that is supplied with the glove for durability and longevity. So far I am very impressed with this product and recommend them to anyone.

Awesome gloves!

Bought last year's Sahara colour in large and they are awesome! So awesome I'm gutted they are getting worn. I've never had wet hands and I've ridden a day in solid rain. I've never had cold hands either. This years design isn't quite up to last years which guts me 'cause I want another pair!

These gloves are great. Much better than Burton's RPM gloves. just as warm but not as stiff. LOVE them!

Burton Ak Clutch Glove

By: Ian M.(1)
January 3, 2007

The AK Clutch glove is a very good one - warm, comfy, and steezy ... but this is a large glove, and it does not provide the warmth of a mitten and is fairly bulky. So if you are willing to pay top dollar for the Burton and AK logos on an average glove, this is the one for you. By all means, at least consider other gloves or mittens before paying $80 for these.
