Burton Down Jacket - Men's

When cold, arctic air moves down and turns your local resort into a giant ice-box, zip up the Burton Men's Down Jacket and leave your cold, shivering friends in the lodge. Burton combined synthetic Thermacore insulation with 550-fill down to give the Down Jacket exceptional warmth in any conditions. A Storm-lite 4.0 C 15K-rated waterproof shell shields the insulation from the wind and rain, while a removable Contour hood protects your face in windy, cold conditions. In fairer weather, open up the Down Jacket's Crossflow venting to let in a breeze. The Down Jacket also comes with microfleece-lined hand pockets for warming chilled hands, and a Pass Pocket for showing the lifties you're legit. *Available for US Shipment Only.

Bottom Line: The Burton Down Jacket provides the warmth of down and the weather protection of a hardshell.

Love it!

I've taken this jacket out 3 or 4 times this season already and I love it. I have the "Rock Salt" version...really cool print design. The jacket has a lot of pockets, good zip vents and moves with you really well. An anonymous user wrote a review saying this jacket isn't warm enough, I'd say it's almost the opposite. If the temps get much above +30F I switch over to a lighter shell...this jacket is REALLY warm. I've found myself sweating at the bottom of a run in single digit temps. All-in-all a wonderful jacket if you're looking for something to take out on those frosty days.

Definately not getting what you pay for!!

At first glance this jacket was really cool. It looked great and had a ton of pockets and handy features. However, when I put it to the test out in the field it did not keep me warm. In my mind the primary reason for purchasing a down jacket at this price is to keep you warm; everything else is secondary!! There is almost no insulation in the sleeves. To keep my forearms from getting chilled I would have to wear a long sleeved sweatshirt underneath. In all honesty I really wanted to like this jacket. It looks awesome and there are some features that are really useful, but in the end the thin skimpy sleeves simply would not do. You might as well be wearing a down vest. This jacket might be fine for mild conditions and minimal wind, but as soon as the temp plummets and the winds pick up you'll wish you had something warmer. If you're thinking about buying this, I would recommend getting the Mountain Hardwear Downhill Parka. It has many of the same features and pockets, but with more down, a better waterproof and breathable rating, and the sleeves are more insulated.

Ridonkulously Warm

This jacket is so warm that it completely melts the image that you are a mint chip ice cream cone when you wear it. Lots of cool gadgets/pockets. I frequently crash on couches, it doubles as a sleeping bag. I sweat right through it on a 20 degree powder day, so it could definitely handle colder.

Great jacket

This jacket is the best. It's a really warm down jacket that isn't too bulky. It has tons of pockets, and is built to last.
