Bern Baker Helmet w/Knit Liner
Bern made the Baker Helmet with multi-impact Brock technology for skiing, snowboarding, biking, skating, and more. It also comes with a removable knit liner. Use this cotton acrylic blend liner for riding in the winter, and take it out to stay cool in the summer. As the flagship of the Bern line, the Baker Helmet has found its place with alternative-sport athletes who don't want a whole closet full of helmets to cover all their activities. The closed-cell Brock lining holds a multiple-impact hard-hat rating, which makes it a better helmet for a snow park or dirt jump session rather than a massive cliff drop.
Bottom Line: Ride with the helmet that started the multi-sport revolution—the incredibly versatile Bern Baker Helmet.

For the money, you can't beat this helmet. I am impressed with the helmet and Bern. I believe any goggle that is "helmet compatible" will fit great. Both my girl and I have logged 2 seasons in these with no complaints at all. We never wear the neck liners. Both have normal to slighlty large heads and the Large fits great. Any kind of slack can be filled with a beanie.
Highly recommended.
Wait for it on Steap and Cheap! $20 a helmet!
Why do you think they'd intentionally publish an inaccurate sizing chart? Of course it's accurate.

Size up. I went by the chart and got a medium. It was tiny! If you're unsure, size up.

The Baker looks awesome and gets the job done. No goggle gap with my Dragon DX's. There aren't any vents (I like the look) but the foam and fabric do a great job of dispersing heat. It's technically not a helmet, but I took some hard falls on ice patches with it and am no worse for the wear.

This helmet is perfect for winter use, I prefer just a light skull cap or balaclava to the ear flaps.
These are the coolest PERIOD

With helmets becoming standard equipment, the hunt for a cool helmet has become easy with BERN. The baker has not interfered with any of my goggle rigs. Even without vents the brock foam has a unique ability to disperse heat/sweat and allow breeze to pass trough. I find most often no liner is needed.
can the "ear flaps" come out of this helmet for sk

I got my Bern Baker with Brock Foam last season and I'm quite impressed. This is the first helmet I have owned that I don't mind wearing on the hill. It's lower profile than my old RED helmet, it's lighter, fits my noggin pretty snuggly and it looks pretty sweet in matte black.
I finally got to test out the Brock foam last weekend up at Mammoth. I got lazy, caught a back edge and scorpioned the back of my head pretty hard into the snow at the top of chair 12 and it worked like a charm... had a little whiplash of the neck muscles, but no concussion. A+ in my book.
I couldn't quite give it a 5-star rating because of a couple of things. I didn't really like the knit liner. It's a little long in the back and hits the back of my neck a little weird when I look up. Also, the brim of the helmet seems to catch the wind and tilts back when I'm straight-lining the blue runs.
All and all, the Bern Baker is a wonderfully constructed helmet. I would buy this helmet again in a heart beat. Highly recommended.

Awesome product from a reputible company. This thing fits better then any other helmet I tried on before making this purchase. The majority of helmets I tried on had good ratings and were reasonably priced but they all seemed to be designed for people with watermelon shaped heads. Most just make you look stupid. The only compliment I recieved was that it appeared that I was only wearing a hat. Which is exaclty what I wanted. Its not bulky in any way. The sizing chart is perfect. If you measured your head and you're in the small range, go with the small. Its not too big or too small. comfy as a Mo-Fo and super warm if you leave the liner in.
I have yet to slam my head on any ice while wearing it but the foam inside seems much more reliable and absorbent then like say an old style bicycle helmet. it just looks sick. BUY THIS ONE

stlylish and warm. the knit liner makes it so it isn't necessary to try to wear a hat underneath. i have been against helmets in the past, but i gotta protect the head, so i might as well look good doing it.
What are the pros/cons of Brock foam vs. EPS foam?
What are the pros/cons of Brock foam vs. EPS foam?
By: MattU
December 27, 2008
Brock Foam is a softer foam. EPS, like in bicycle helmets, is a harder foam. The softer foam is better for smaller impacts, like generally cruising around the mountain. A harder foam is better for one big impact, like dropping cliffs. After one big hit on EPS foam, the cells crush completely, and should be thrown out. Brock foam recovers from impacts, and such, can take multiple hits better.

Michael Kisow: See Sizing chart above "add to cart"Andrew Kona: I measured my head according to the sizing chart (57.5 cm was my measurment) and I decided to order a medium and a large incase the medium was too snug. when I tried them on they were both too big. bern's sizing information that comes with the helmet instructs the rider to properly place and adjust the helmet for use, place your hands on the sides (left and right) of the helmet while it's on your head, and then turn your head left and right while you hands maintain the original position. If your head turns or moves within the helmet it's too big. Bern says the helmet should fit snugly and when doing this "turn fit" test that the helmet should turn with your head.In short, the sizing chart didn't really work out for me. especially after the liner was removed, the medium was then quite loose fitting. (I would not describe the fit of the medium on my head as snug with or without the liner.) I will be sending back the medium and large and ordering a small.

These things are tiny and if you have a bigger head (I have a huge melon) skip it. The larger ones are "hard hats" not helmets. Better than the free lid you got at helmet night at the baseball game I guess. Better choices out there for sure.

Great Helmet

I use the Bern primarily as a snowboarding helmet, and let me tell you, this one is GREAT! What the Bern lacks in the low weight department, is easily made up for with style and comfort. It is at once both warm and breathable(an initial concern of mine as it has no visible vents). The knit ear covers are AH-MAZING(!!) and the bill actually helps keep snow and sun at bay! The goggle retainer on the back works, though at times it is awkward getting the goggles to stay on the helmet when they are not on your face.
As far as the important stuff goes(i.e. protection), this helmet never took any big hits so I can't comment. But it does instill a great deal of confidence just having it on, and I can definitely attest to its ability to thwart branches big and small in sketchy, narrow tree runs. Would buy again in a heart beat.
Overall badass helment.

Like other snowboard consumers, it's hard to find a helmet that looks decent and does it's job. I honestly forget I have it on after a few minutes. The knit liner is very warm. I just rode at Brighton in Utah and it got very cold at the top. My ears never noticed. I have had a few crashes with it and it feels like a solid helmet. I even got a few comments on how badass my Bern is.
Get this helmet.
Worth the money.
