Black Diamond Ion Headlamp

Black Diamond created the Ion Headlamp for backpackers and climbers who want a just-in-case light source for all-day outings and anyone else who likes to pack light. Two LED lights provide plenty of light to build anchors, make a few rappels, hike down the trail, or pitch a tent. Thanks to the ridiculously low 1-ounce weight, the Black Diamond Ion Headlamp makes the cut for any ultralight trip.

Bottom Line: Go light with your lighting. Go with the Black Diamond Ion Headlamp.

A minimalist light

This is a good lightweight headlamp for early morning runs or MTB rides, but you won't be able to see too far down the trail. The two LEDs put out an adequate amount of light, but nothing spectacular. This is a light I'll keep in my pack in case of emergencies due to its minuscule size. However, for a light that works in a wider array of environments, I'm upgrading to the Petzl TacTikka Plus. If you can get this light for under $10, then go for it...otherwise, I would go with something else.

Super light

its extremely light weight, stays on your head surprisingly well for not having an over the head strap(i can run with it) on the down side it does not give out a ton of light, and it uses a 9v camera battery.
