Black Diamond Joule Ski - Women's

Whether mounted AT or telemark, the Black Diamond Women's Joule Ski features a friendly, forgiving nature and wide footprint for all-mountain versatility. The Joule is actually the women's version of the Kilowatt (BD's preeminent fat all-mountain ride) with a slightly softer longitudinal flex. The Joule's CNC machined wood core wrapped in a torsion box construction dampens out vibration and stays stable at speed, yet remains lively for quick turns through the trees. Powder Magazine was so impressed with this that they gave it their Skier's Choice Award. A balance of performance and lightweight mean the Joule is equally adept at tours in the backcountry or days at the resort.

I bought this ski based on reviews only and I was a little concerned that I had made the right choice. But Powder Mag and the ski testers knew what they were doing when they gave it the Skier's Choice Award. This ski is phenomenal! I took it to a ski area to get to know it and dial it in. The Joule cut through crud like a hot knife through butter, was impressive holding an edge when I opened it up on the groomers, and was extremely nimble making quick turns in the trees. I was a little worried that the light weight would cause it to be deflected and tossed around in heavy stuff, but no worries...it was solid. This ski will make you a super star. FYI, I had it mounted with Dynafit TLT Vertical ST bindings (which were impressively solid BTW), and used the Garmont Mega Stars (also impressively stiff and LIGHT).

Got a question...is the Joule stiffer/burlier than the salomon...

Got a question...is the Joule stiffer/burlier than the salomon Pocket Rocket? I want to get this for my girlfriend but want something stiffer than the pocket rocket - its way too flimsy. I have the K2 hippy stinxs and these are too stiff/heavy for her. Is the Joule in the middle?
