Black Diamond Rope Brush - 2007
The Beal Rope Brush is the best way to clean your climbing rope of damaging dirt and rock particles. Simply twist the brush onto your rope, then run the rope through the brush while holding it firmly under water. It couldn't be easier to use and will increase the life of your rope.
Bottom Line: A clean rope is a happy (and safer) rope.

this brush took out so much dirt that the bathwater ran black for 45 minutes. between this and normal bar soap, my rope went from unrecognizably black to its previous yellow-green in one sitting. it is quite strenuous, so I didn't finish (I could get more out), but so far it's amazing.
Not Perfect, But Flawless As They Come

I would normally rate this product four stars due to the amount of work that you put in to even apply the device to my thicker rope, but in doing that I might take away someone from purchasing it. I read all of these reviews, and I must say that everyone has been on the ball about this one. I ran this through clean bath water, and by the end of the first pull through it was amazing how much game off. Please, if you really value your rope not for only yourselves, but for others who climb on it, please do them and yourself a favor by buying this and putting it to great use. Your friends and your rope will thank you.

Wow, I didn't think my rope was that dirty! This thing is definitely worth the money. Now, I have to go clean the pile of sediment out of my bathtub.
Monster ropes and this brush dont mix

I got this brush to clean up my monster 9.8 and the brush did what its meant to do, but it also messed my rope up. The markers got pulled out and it actually damaged the sheath where one of the markers got pulled out. So, if you have a monster rope, i would not use the brush on it.

This brush is incredible - I never imagined there was such an amount of dirt in my ropes! It works with all ropes too, regardless of the caliber.

This little brush seems to do exactly what it was intended to do. Though it's a good workout for your arm.

I managed to get this thing pretty hot when I cleaned the rope, but it wasn't a problem or anything. Dust all on my hand too. Definitely was doing its job!

I read the previous reviews and thought I'll give it a try. It works. True it does give your arm a workout, but it cleans like it says. I had best results running my rope through the rope brush twice. If youre looking to clean your rope, this is the item you'll want!
Brush?

Ive known plenty of dirt bag climbers that dont even brush their teeth, but they never step on their rope and clean it regularly. This is your life line. Take care of your rope.
Never knew my rope was that dirty

I used my rope brush for the first time. I never knew my rope was that dirty!! I keep my ropes fairly clean but with the rope brush the dirt literally fell off my ropes. I was amazed!! Even when the water ran clear after rinsing, the rope brush still dislodged dirt from my rope. It is a must for any one who likes to have a clean rope but especially those of us who climb in the desert.

You'll be surprised what comes off your rope. The first time I used this I was impressed how much crud came off my rope. I often use the brush while inspecting my rope before and after a climb -it's a nice little tool to have around

I bought this brush after reading other reviews, and I took their advice and ran it though twice. I couldn't believe how dirty my rope was!
