I have bought other shorts in a size 34, but they measure between 35-36 with a tape measure. I think it is so they will hang on your hips, which I like. What is the actual waist size.

Most of Bong's boardshorts will measure about 1/2" to 3/4" larger than the actual size (Hero sizing)and yeah...they should be worn a bit lower on the hips....not around the neck unless you prefer to tuck your tees in
