Backcountry Access Stash Rider Backpack - 976cu in

Strap your board onto the Backcountry Access Stash Rider Backpack and hike to your favorite out-of-bounds powder stash. This insulated winter hydration pack has just enough room for a day at the resort or in the backcountry. The hose and bite valve are neatly stashed inside the shoulder strap where Outlast insulation actually traps and stores your body heat, releasing it when the temperature drops. This high-tech insulation system ensures you're not sucking ice, even in brutally cold conditions. Storm-proof zippers ensure the contents of the Stash Rider stay dry and secure, and internal probe and shovel pockets keep everything easily accessible in case the worst case scenario turns into reality.

Bottom Line: The Backcountry Access Stash Rider holds all the ice-free water and gear you need for a day of resort or backcountry riding.

Great pack

This is an excellent pack. Although advertised as a pack for snowboards, it works quite well to hold skis. The quick release straps make it easy to secure skis to the pack without removing gloves or mittens. I found this quite useful during a trip to Aspen, CO, where carrying skis is necessary to go to Longshot and the Hanging Valley Wall in Snowmass as well as the Highlands bowl at Aspen Highlands. The water reservoir works well in mildly cold conditions (20 degrees F and above) but does freeze in extreme cold conditions (below 20 degrees F) but short of putting vodka in the pack, I do not know of any other pack that would hold up in extreme cold.

Awesome Hydration/Backpack

What an awesome pack. Just returned from a week in Breckenridge and everyone who saw it asked where I got it. It held a large quantity of water (which is easily accessible) and had plenty of room for gear, including a zipper pocket on the back that I could reach around and get my walkie talkie. My son used it to carry his skis when he hiked to the top of the mountain. It was very comfortable to wear and I didn't have any problems taking/getting off lifts. I highly recommend this backpack!

The best unknown.

I tried on several different packs at my local store, and saw this one there. It looked the best, and seemed to be a very well built pack. I have used it a few times already, and it works great. It is just the right size I need for snowboarding, but beware, 1150 is not very big. I had no problems with the tube freezing at all the last time I went up when it was 25 degrees out. I have not actually hiked with my board strapped on the pack, but I did try it out, and it works good.
