Atomic Snowboards Hatchet Snowboard

Atomic built the Hatchet Freeride Snowboard so well that their pros ride it off-the-shelf for launching backcountry booters, park hits, and rails. Considered a reference for all-mountain snowboards, the Hatchet is Atomic's consistent number one seller. Atomic gives the Hatchet the same durable poplar core found in their freeride boards, while the full 2.5-degree bottom-edge Park Bevel minimizes hang ups on rails, park targets, and backcountry jib hits that aren't as well-maintained. D4 Sandwich Construction uses four independent glass layers to maximize pop and response while maintaining consistent flex and a stable feel underfoot. The generous park edge also gives you some forgiveness if you should launch or land a little off center.

Bottom Line: Atomic's Hatchet Snowboard takes a freeride board and adds terrain park features for the best ride in-country or off the reservation.

Great park board

I don't know why the description calls the Hatchet a freeride board, because it is quite the opposite. I ride the Hatchet as my main park board and I couldn't be happier with it--the flex is mellow enough to do butters and ride rails, but has enough stability to hit bigger kickers and throw around on the groomers. There is no other board that gives you this much technology and quality for the price; the Hatchet is a park slaying machine that is surprisingly stable at speed, but keep in mind it is still freestyle-oriented and not meant for high-speed carving...

im giving if 4 stars cause ive only ridden it 3 times but all i can say is its stable yet soft. nose is a tad longer but the flex is like a pair of hot twins. if you ride the groomers and parks than this is a super safe bet, plus a sintered base for this price is kinda rare(this thing flies!!!).
