Arc'teryx Gamma AR Pant - Men's

The Arc'teryx Gamma AR Pant blends the mountaineer's tenacity with the Slinky's flexibility. The softshell Gamma AR focuses on flexibility, protection and comfort-it's sized to allow extra layers underneath. Ascend the Khumbu icefall confidently with the superior mobility of this pant. Move up to camp IV, storing extra food and layers in the AR's garage-like thigh pockets. Fly up the Hillary Step thanks to the Gamma's gusseted crotch, and summit proudly with the Gamma retaining warmth under your shell pant. *Available for US shipment only.

Bottom Line: The Gamma helps you achieve the ultimate high.

Top of everyone's shopping list

I'm biased to Arc'teryx anyway, but these really rock. Brought me to the top of Rainier and back in fine style. Breatheability and temp regulation is perfect, plenty warm for 15 degree 25MPH conditions. Best all around alpine pant there is. No need to go MX, - likely too warm and heavy unless you're among the most extreme or get cold very easily. Kudos to Teleman for layering with the icebreaker bottoms - I'd spoon with somma that's if my wife would let me.

Gamma AR - awesome

Wore them while hiking in Yosemite the last weekend of November. Got them wet but I stayed dry. I have to say that the tall in this pant is a little to long for me (6'2") My other Arc'teryx pants fit better in the tall version......will try them skiing this winter as well. Versatile will wear pant on drive to Mammoth and to ski the next day and then out to dinner. Doesn't look so much like a ski pant but will work.

Softshell Pants

The Gamma AR is a very lightweight softshell. Great on warm days, and with my Icebreaker bottoms, it is warm enough on powdery days too. Plus they look better then any dress pants I own. Fit is quite true to size and a generous inseam. There is only a draw cord for closure at the boot, but not much snow seems to come in.

nice pants!

Very good breathability and decent water resistance make these a good choice for ski touring; less comfortable without a first layer/briefs than my other softshell pants (Cloudveil Symetry) but less prone to snagging. Sizing is smaller than Arc'teryx hardshell pants; I normally wear a small and take a medium in these.
