Arc'teryx Khamski Backpack - 2500-2870cu in
The Arc'teryx Khamski Pack is a lightweight technical pack made for out-of-bounds skiing and day touring. A favorite of professional patrollers, the Khamski is complete with an external shovel pocket, quick-release ski attachments, and probe holder. The fixed top lid has a map pocket and compression straps to keep your load under control. WaterTight zips and superpack fabric battle the elements as you make your way up and down steep slopes. Arc'teryx uses aluminum frame stays and a HDPE framesheet for ultimate stability while traversing sketchy terrain and the Y-Frame suspension is derived from their long haul packs for a comfortable fit when fully loaded. Contrasting zipper pulls makes it easier to find your gear in an emergency. *Available for US shipment only.
Bottom Line: Quality Arc'teryx construction and innovative design mate to create a professional level pack.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

I've got an ancient Dana Design Bomb pack (3200 cu. in.) that I want to replace. It doesn't have a hydration sleeve, isn't water proof and doesn't have a shovel pocket.
I've narrowed my choices down to the Arc'Teryx Khamski and Borea.
What do you think?

Depending on your requirements & without comparing each individual feature, I'd choose the Khamski for the following reasons:
1. It's lighter in weight,
2. It has a hydration sleeve,
3. It's less expensive,
4. It's available through bc.com & the Borea isn't @ this time.
