Don't leave home without one

By:

This little peice of Mylar can mean the diference between shivering all night as the cold zaps all your energy and being able to get back up at first light to make your way back to safety. I've been caught out without a "space blanket" before. If you don;t believe the heating powers of a vapor barrier, go get a large trash bag and hudle with it wrapped around your shoulders, within minutes you should feel the trapped heat building. Added bonus to tthis blacket are the survival instructions and illustrations tp keep you enlightened and entertained.

You do not know the difference between EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT and your high end gear. I spent 8 years in Special Forces, a little under 7 in combat. I can smell a snob and a wannabe 3,000 miles away.

Lightweight groundcloth

By:
September 14, 2008

I use this sheet as an ultralight groundcloth when sleeping in the open or under a tarp. It is very lightweight and large enough for two.

great ground cover

By:
September 12, 2008

i use this blanket as a lightweight ground cover for backpacking in the sierra nevada mountains for my wife and me mainly to keep our stuff clean. we do not typically bring a tent, we just use this, our sleeping pad, a warm down bag, and a second emergency blanket for rain protection if needed. It holds up great for week long trips. It should be noted that it can be fussy to use in high winds, other than that, these are great to bring along!

Neat little blanket II

Neat little blanket By: Lance Merklin July 22, 2007 Well thankfully I haven't had to use it yet but it sure is a nice small pack it cames in it fits almost any where. YOU, have a good perspective on emergency equipment. I apologize, I think some of these reviews and questions are getting attached to the wrong messages. It is likely my fault. Keep on Humpin' and Ruckin", Greg
