Alpina Rotefella NNN BC Auto Binding

The Rottefella NNN BC Auto binding is a user-friendly binding that's stable on the track and a breeze to step in and out of. Simply step in for a positive click to engage, then press your ski pole tip into the toe piece for an easy release. Two grooves transmit power efficiently from boot to binding to ski, while notches in the grooves work to preserve the ski's natural flex pattern. The BC's wide 56mm platform offers excellent edge control and stability, while the NNN system makes them compatible with many brands of boots.

Bottom Line: Rottefella's NNN BC Auto might be the most user-friendly touring binding on the market.

Got these bindings for my "bushwacking" skis (ski around the house with the dogs) and they get the job done. Simple, solid, light. The entry/release mechanism is much easier than my prior NNN BC bindings which required lifting a handle to exit; with these it's just the push of a pole. Price is right, too.

Great!

We're really enjoying our skis and our bindings! (We've had a ton of snow here in Northern New Mexico and have been hitting the trails three times a week!) Aside from the excellent products, we really enjoyed our shopping experience with the folks at Backcountry. Excellent customer service. (We've been telling folks about you!) Thanks again-Ramon and Donna Truchas, New Mexico

Installation of the bindings was easy. I used the skis last weekend and the bindings worked great.

roteffela nordic binding

I almost lost a friend using Rottefella step-in bindings. She gets very cold and we were out in the alpine basin three hours from humanity. She was getting colder and colder, and those bindings froze under her feet after we took a break and we couldn't get them back on because ice was in a place under the binding plate and we couldn't chip it out. After much panic and prayer and a half hour of freezing, I finally bashed it out. Stress like this I don't need in the backcountry.

Replacing old style bindings with new style bindings.

Installing the new NNN bindings was very easy. There were two small problems, however. First the mathematical conversion of the required 3.6 mm diameter drill size from metric to inch. Divide 3.6/25.4 = .141 inch which is approximately 9/64 inch. Secondly the paper template used to locate the holes was printed slightly off-center. Once the centerline of the template was accurately located onto the centerline of the skis the rest was easy. The wood type self-tapping screws worked well. I am very happy with the new bindings. They are easier to use than the old style three pin bindings.
