what is the shelf life?

Alpine Aire claims a 5-10 year shelf life on most of their meals stored under ideal conditions, but just to be safe, I'd eat most freeze dried meals within five years. I've actually eaten a few meals that were seven years old without any problem & they tasted as good as new ones.
