Description

Keep up with yourself with the help of a good capri companion.

Weekends can get crazy; you find yourself spending an entire day in the Stoic Women's Thrive Glow Capri as you rapidly transition from an extra-long morning dog walk to a trip to the farmer's market for produce and a bite to eat, to the weekly house clean-up, and finally a late-afternoon kickball game/barbecue. But given the fit, comfort, and stylish good looks of the Glow Capri, running short on time is not necessarily a bad thing.

  • Stretchy, compressive fabric offers a supportive fit and wicking, quick-drying comfort
  • Mid-rise elastic waist, gusseted crotch, and back slits at the hem enable athletic movement
  • DWR finish repels light precipitation and resists stains
  • Antimicrobial treatment fights odor accumulation
  • Key pocket in waistband caches small essentials
  • Flatlock seams offer chafe-free, against-the-skin comfort

Strange fit, but stands up to a beating

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 3"
    Weight: 125 lbs
    Size Purchased: M

So I've had these for about a year...tried them for climbing (gym and outdoors), running, biking, and just hanging around. They're not great, but if you can get them on a super sale they might be worth it. I got them on super sale, so I kept them even after discovering the fit was a little strange.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the waistband is weirdly tight, creating a muffin top even for people that might not really have one. It's a strange fit but not tight enough in the waist to be uncomfortable, at least for me anyway. Maybe it's because the rise is a little short. That said, they tend to stay put, not really riding up or anything, so they're okay.

I own other Stoic bottoms and don't have this fit problem except with the Aurora pant, which is basically just the full length version of these capris.

All that said, the construction is quality and the fabric is tough. Because of the strange-ish fit, I choose these when I have a might-destroy-my-clothes activity planned, like offwidth climbing or running in crappy conditions. These shed water as expected for a DWR coating, don't hold on to stains, and haven't yet pilled or ripped. The leg opening is has a clever slit to allow max knee movement, which is great for high stepping (or general comfort, for that matter). So, 3 stars instead of just 1 or 2!

Love this brand, but...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 5"
    Weight: 135 lbs
    Size Purchased: Medium

I purchased these for running, they are a wonderful thick material and I love the cut out for the back of the knees, but they are pretty tight through the crotch area. :/ I have the Stoic Thrive tights in Medium and they fit very similar to these in Medium. I got these on sale, so I say they are worth it, but I wouldn't have been happy if I had paid full price.

Almost...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Ordered these on sale and for the sale price, they will do. Don't be completely discouraged by the fact that out of the bag they look like they are meant for a small child. They stretch and magically fit a grown woman's body. They look good on, though after a few squats or more than about 2 minutes of running the crotch seams are a bit unfortunate (a friend of mine tells me that camel toe is "in" right now, but I'm pretty sure she's lying). It's not uncomfortable, just unattractive. Unfortunately this issue wasn't something I noticed until after I'd worn them out for a pretty sweaty run, so I feel bad returning them since there's really nothing else wrong and they were on super sale... I haven't seen anyone else report this issue so maybe it's just me.

I am ~5'4", 120, 34-27-35 and I have a small in these and a medium in the tights. I feel like I'm sort of between sizes and I would say if you think you're between sizes, order up.

Comfy and versatile.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I don't think I've ever owned a pair of capris, but bought these on a whim and I'm glad I did. They are comfortable for everyday activities and also for napping and running. I'm planning on picking up a few more pairs before these run out!

Great option

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I use these at the gym, outside, running, biking, lounging around. They're comfy and durable. I'm ordering more.

Great in camp or a workout

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these to workout, but first use was camp clothes and it was fantastic. Nice and soft. Wore them at night in my sleeping bag and they definitely bumped up the comfort rating.
I do use them for WODs, like other reviewers have mentioned, it has a tight waistband. However, it keeps them in place which is nice if you're moving around, even if a little unflattering.

Beware of the muffin top waistband

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I love all of my Stoic apparel. I ordered a size up in these as recommended by other reviewers, which was fine (usually a S, 5'5"). The M fit great, with the exception of the waistband. Be warned - the waistband on these pants is stretchy, but it is very tight. I don't usually get muffin top with jeans, let alone spandex pants, but somehow these give me an unflattering waistline. I'll keep these, but wear these with a looser shirt.

Great Pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I bought the pant version of these capri's, and my wife loved those so much that it led us to buying these. She loves these just as much if not more. She hasn't worn them very much because we bought them in the Winter and are just headed into Spring, but the fit is great. The fabric is comfortable.

So comfortable!

Ridiculously comfortable, and quite flattering. I have their full length yoga pants as well, but like having these around for exercise and outdoor adventures. The material is very soft and quite resilient. Overall, super love!

My wife wishes they still made these!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

My wife loves these capris. Strong and stretchy enough to be extremely active in. Unique enough to stand out. Comfy enough to wear any day. They fit kind of between sizes.. so size up if you aren't sure.

S/M - get M

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Good capris! If you are often between a small and a medium, go M! The waist is a little tighter than expected.

Impressed immediately.

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I picked these up with a pair of Stoic Aurora's, and the only thing that bums me out is that I purchased them going into winter instead of springtime!
Even though it is getting cold, I still wear these every chance I get. I love the pocket (I lose things all the time, so the pocket is amazing for me to have), they are comfortable regardless of activity, and the price can't be beat!

great for the price

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So, i really like the fit. True to size and the quality is good. I bought the knickers as well (which I've already lost under the pile of clothes on the bedroom floor). I'm glad they were on sale because I've been wanting to check the brand out and I'm not sure I would have paid full price for them. The knickers have a really cheesy, air brushed "Thrive" down the front side of one of the legs which I could do without b/c I think this makes them look a little tacky/cheap? And, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it starts peeling off. However, I do like my purchases and will likely try something else from Stoic in the future.

Looks great!

Girlfriend really seems to like these. They look great, but are a little on the tight side. They still stretch a nicely, but the medium still seemed a little too tight. Size up for sure.
Flat seems are also a plus to reduce/eliminate chafing. Perfect for looking great while working out, just watch the heads turn.

Stoic Thrive Glow Capri

Great fit in the waist (XS - I'm 55kgs 5'3") and lovely feel to the fabric; very comfortable. Can't understand why you would have the loose fitting lower leg, but aside from feeling wierd initially it doesn't detract from the garment's performance (I use it for Step, Pump and bush walking/running). The key pocket is very small, but I guess a key - and nothing else - will fit so it is 'fit for purpose' (bigger would be better though)

Stylish and comfortable. Great workout pants. Quality is great. Sizing wise, I went up from a small to a medium.

Great climbing pant

I pretty much live in these on the weekend. Great for climbing and running around. Runs a little small so I sized up and they fit great.

Stoic Thrive Capri kills it!

I have this bottom in both colors and it's not in my regular rotation. Super comfy, great for spring hiking and running and looks cute. Flattering around the waist and makes your butt look great! I'm 5/7 120 and the small fits perfect!

Make me look good

Love these pants! Not only do they fit really well, they make me look pretty good! I like that they are snug, great for activities that have a lot of jumping or bouncing as well as activities like rock climbing, easy to put a harness over it.
