Description

Like the Inbounds glove of yesteryear, quite possibly bombproof.

The rough-and-tumble of an active winter are no match for the Stoic Paragon Glove. Goat skin leather protects your fingers from the elements, palm reinforcements give you extra grip on your pole, and a warm, wool lining takes the bite out of cold temperatures. Whether you're building a jump, digging a pit, or bushwhacking your way to a new line, this is a workhorse glove that'll take it all for years to come.

  • External DWR coating allows the goat leather and softshell materials to repel wet snow and light precipitation so you hand stays dry
  • Goat leather shell allows for superior dexterity, without sacrificing rugged durability
  • Softshell paneling is flexible, quick-drying, and provides warmth for the back of your hand and wrist
  • Reinforced palms shrug off sharp ski edges, rope tows, endless shoveling sessions, and bushwhacking sessions through tight trees
  • Wool lining insulates, wicks moisture, and retains its warmth even when wet
  • Redesigned hook-and-loop wrist closure includes a hidden, self-cinching buckle beneath the hook-and-loop tab, making it faster and easier to make one-handed adjustments without the glove slipping around on your wrist while you pull the tab closed

Unreal glove, fits true to size and very warm. Wear and tear a little easy but still holding up like champs! Great price for a great glove!

$40??? Seriously??? Hestra sells a glove just like it for $200!

I've rocked Hestras for a couple years, they fell apart, switched to Kinco patrol gloves, they are so burly they could stop a chainsaw and have terrible dexterity. Got these last winter, OMG SOLVED.

Do yourself a favor and coat these bad boys with some Sno-Seal. They will last you forever and stay waterproof the entire time. They offer great dexterity, and are my goto gloves for anything below 50 degrees. I started using them on bike commutes lower than 40F and they find my shifters just fine. I also use these for snowmobiling and they have held up awesome. The padding on the back is great for punching trees.

At this price, I'd like to buy 3 sets so I'll be good for the next 20 years.

they were a little stiff right outta the bag, but after a few uses they were broken in nicely. They worked perfectly for the resort, backcountry, and kept my hands perfect the whole day out doing some sled-skiing

The strap design is easy to use even with numb hands. The leather is durable enough I can use them as work gloves. When it drops below 10 or 15, all I do is add a lining and get back to the job.

Great fitting winter glove. Lining feels warmer than the Duke glove. Fit true to the sizing guide provided. They are "a little" stiff but I'm sure will break in with use.

Can anyone comment on how these compare...

Can anyone comment on how these compare with the Forges? What the difference between these two gloves? Thanks!

I have both gloves and I pretty much find them interchangeable, but if I had to say, I'd say that the Paragon is 1) a bit colder 2) has better dexterity and articulation and 3) has a better grip surface. I prefer these for ski touring as the Forge still heats up a ton, but in a pinch I'd say they are very close in characteristics.

The closure on the Paragon seems cool at first, but if you like the ability of getting your glove off quickly and easily, I would go with the standard velcro closure on the Forges. Much better in my opinion. In terms of warmth I find them to be equal.

The Stoic Paragon has one of the most unique and functional wrist closure systems on the market. The leather is nice. Sizing varies from glove to glove, I would order a few sizes and return whichever one doesn't fit the best.

Initial impressions: better looking in person, fit is accurate to chart, strap design is excellent, but disappointed there is not "wool" lining as described. My lining says 93% nylon, 7% spandex. Boo!

Use: I've used the gloves for a few weeks. Overall, I rate these gloves as excellent based on aesthetics, warmth and strap design. For me, they work great down to about 10-15 degrees F, at which point I'd probably use a liner if outside more than 30 minutes. I really appreciate the neon green stitching and strap design you can cinch down with quickly with one hand. The tab pull on the front of the glove eases use as well. Dexterity seems to be pretty good. The limits of fine motor skills seem to be getting my key carabiner off my belt loop, which I can do about half the time.

Overall: Great design, soft but durable feeling leather that keeps you warm. Hard to beat for the price. Please omit "wool" in the description! Would buy again.

These are a great glove at their price point. They have good dexterity yet have some good warmth too. I have skied them around 20 times now and Im starting to notice the leather wear a little on the tips of the fingers, and the wool liner is wearing a little. But overall I am a big fan for the price buy two!

These things rock - I've heard stories and read reviews about how Stoic gloves have had fit issues in the past. These fit me very well out of the box, and are in the process of breaking in to perfection. I usually wear a large glove, and the large pair of these is spot on. I'm coming off experience with a few random pairs of Burton gloves, and Dakine sabre's. The paragon takes the cake, hands down. Love the minimal amount of insulation in the palm - the wool lining is perfect here, enough warmth/no bulk. The insulation on the back does the real work for warmth, yet the whole glove maintains such a low profile, i barely notice them on. Only complaint - the closure system around the wrist is great for fit/keeping snow out, but seems just a little difficult for on/off. Still giving 5 stars, as they deserve it @ this price point.

First of all, order a size down. I wear a large usually, sometimes even XL, and for these the medium fit perfect.

They are awesome gloves though, perfect all around weight. Not too bulky, great dexterity and pretty low profile, but warm enough for all but the coldest days. The coolest part is the closure system on the cuff. It has a sweet combination of synch strap and velcro. It's super fast and easy to do and undo and feels nice and secure.

I own over 8 pairs of gloves and these are my go-to for Touring, Skiing and Winter Belaying. Very good quality and the closure system is great and easy to use. They lasted about 2 uses before they started to absorb some water. I solved that by applying leather waterproof lotion. They are not the warmest gloves, but on cold days if you keep moving they are warm enough.

Been in some pretty cold temperatures (Single digits and teens) and did not keep the fingertips warm at all in the single digits. The water proofing seems to be adequate. Would probably do better if you're more active while being in the cold. Have yet to ski in them. I do love the fit and feel of these gloves though.

I'm using these for warmer spring days. They're not as warm as the high-priced PrimaLoft gloves, but the supple leather provides good grip, and were plenty warm for a 10-degree F day at Lost Trail recently. You can't beat the performance for the cost!

These things are amazing. Same quality as the high priced versions, but half the price for the same soft supple leather! Win!!

These gloves are awesome, they've gotta be the best bang for the buck. Genius closure system, great fit, and nice materials. Well done!

These gloves are comparable to the Hestra Ski Cross gloves but half the price. I have purchased both the all black model and the tan/black. Solid leather glove, great grip and large fits just like a Hestra 10. I bet they will last the whole season...160 plus ski days.

I bought these for all of my brothers this year for christmas (and I snuck in a pair for myself, too!). They are really well constructed, nice gloves. All leather except for the lower back part of the glove. I used them yesterday for the first time up at the 'Bird when it was 15 degrees, kept my hands nice and dry but a hand warmer was definitely needed. If you want to layer, buy a size up because these fit really tight. They have great dexterity. The bro's love 'em.

after trying my first pair of backcountry.com inbounds, i was hooked. those gloves felt great and solid, thick leather and wool lining.
this glove however feels like a cheap ripoff. leather(if it is real leather) shell feels thin and idk how to describe it but they just dont feel as god as the glove they used to be.
-----------------------
after first day of riding, my fingers felt like they were going to fall off, and this was after 1 time down the hill. these gloves offer absolutely no warmth to me. I even had trouble with hand warmers.
DO NOT BUY

Agreed. These are not even close to the quality of the BC.com Inbounds glove. Just trying them on you can feel the quality is much less. I wish backcountry would spend the money on higher quality materials and come back with the real inbounds glove.
