Great "tall guy" climbing pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 7"
    Weight: 240 lbs
    Size Purchased: XL

I'm 6'7" with a 36-37" inseam. and the XL's are perfect for me. Love to wear these gym/rock climbing. very durable, I haven't had a skinned knee since starting to wear these.

Good Fit and Durable!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 1"
    Weight: 170 lbs
    Size Purchased: medium

The fit of these pants is true to size and the material feels solid. I really like these pants but they are a little on the heavy side.

LUUUUVE them but waist: M=33in L =37in

  • Height: 5' 11"
    Weight: 173 lbs
    Size Purchased: M & L

I just love the pants, from the material, to construction, to the stretchy nature of the fabric. I would buy a pair full price if they made a M to L size. The suggested chart sizing is quite off. I ordered them in two colors after a freind bought a pair. Unfortunately I'm a 34-35 size, 5.9' 173lb. And of course I'm in between. Returned them all :o(. Stoic please make more sizes.

Unanswered Question

Can anyone tell me if these pants tend to stretch overtime? I read a post that mentioned they will loose some elasticity, but what about the size? I'm in between sizes and have to decide which size to keep. Thank you

Way too big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Height: 5' 9"
    Weight: 178 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

I ordered a large based on the sizing guide and they were definitely large. The waist was 37.5 inches, which makes the sizing chart completely untrue. I've bought a few of their clothes a few years ago so I was hoping that they fixed their sizing.

The quality is great and I've always loved them for it but order at least a size down.

Unanswered Question

Is this pants something you can wear in the summer? Or this is more of a Spring/fall pants?

Loads of room for the twix & jellybeans

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 199 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

Bought a pair 3 years ago, and incase they went out of stock, I came back and bought another pair. Comfy, dry, wind-breaker, breathable, loads of room for the twix and jellybeans. Some say they run large but I found the large to fit perfectly for someone who is a 34/34 in normal jeans. Dont over wash them, after 3 years, they lost their elasticity a little.

Comfortable and bomber

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These bad boys are awesome. I needed a pair of pants that I could wear in all sorts of terrain including while canyoneering in Utah, which if you've gone, you know it can DESTROY your clothes. I had a pair of Kavu pants that lasted for one canyon before they started getting holes. Not these! Not only can they take a beating but they are super comfortable and offer great flexibility and stretch. I would highly recommend these for anyone if you need a good hiking/outdoor pair of pants. Fit true to size as well.

Comfortable and bomber

Favorite Hiking Pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Height: 6' 1"
    Weight: 170 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

Love these pants. They are water resistant enough to go hiking up in WA or take the dogs down to the river. Also they look good enough to wear around town. The soft shell material is not only stretchy but the crotch have a big gusset so you don't have to worry about range of motion. The waist does have about 3 fingers of play in them for me but I don't mind it. Just makes it easier if I need to layer anything.

Amazing Feel

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 155 lbs
    Size Purchased: medium

These pants feel great when climbing at the gym, or at the bar afterwords. Extremely comfortable and lightweight. Pants are durable and haven't ripped even after sliding down the wall.

Probably the best pants I owen

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 4"
    Weight: 170 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

These pants are SO comfortable! They move and stretch in every way that I do. They are sturdy and dries fast. The only negative thing I would have to say is that they don't come in any cool colors. They only come in three pretty lame colors. Other than that, I would totally suggest them to anyone.

Best Rock Climbing Pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 10"
    Weight: 160 lbs
    Size Purchased: medium

If you buy these pants that fit and feel great, they will make you climb 4 grades higher than with some cotton shorts. I just climbed in Smith Rock for a week and some 5.11 routes had the farthest apart foot hold I've encountered, but these bad boys let you do the splits even if you are not capable of it normally. And did I mention the gold just looks bad ass?

Awesome pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

Buy the damn pants, they're the best! A pair of Levi 501 STFs fit me just a little snug and a large pair of these fit great just for reference. Buying my third pair in five years right now because the durability isn't great, but they perform so well I don't care. Been hiking and backpacking quite a bit in Overhangs and still look dressed enough to not look out of place at the bar afterward. I hate to think what I'll do once these are discontinued.

Good quality, poor sizing.

  • Fit: Runs large

I ordered a large based on the sizing chart provided and they were way too big! I am a 33" waist and the chart indicated a large at 32.4-35.6" at waist. The pants fell off me when done up. Besides the misdirection in size, the pants seem to be good quality (especially for the sale price). I'll never really know though because the medium's were soldout and discontinued.

Responded on

If the pants are rated to fit someone almost 3 inches larger than you are, you shouldn't ding the sizing. These pants are great. Very comfortable, roomy, nice zippered pockets and good style.

Very Good, but..

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

Over sized.

decent but weird sizing

The material is pretty darn comfy. it stretches so well there's absolutely 0 restriction performing any movement (i can't do the splits). I wish the softshell material breathed a little better though. i run pretty hot and would not be happy hiking in warm weather with these. that being said, they don't really insulate other than sun and wind protection. great fall through spring pant.

the sizing is waaaay off. i'm 6' 190 pounds and got the size large. the waist is a little big, but not bad i guess. the legs are a few inches too long. maybe a 35 or 36 inseam? plan on spending a couple bucks to get the pant legs shortened.

Surprisingly Good!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Bought these pants a few seasons back and for some reason didn't like them (so I sold them). I saw a great deal on this years version and I LOVE them. Not sure what changed (me or the pants). Great fit and stretchy fabric. Cuts wind and breathes rather well. I used them a lot in the late winter and early spring. Pocket placement is excellent (love the side cargo pocket!). I ended up replacing my arcteryx gamma LT with these pants (although these are a much heavier fabric) I just found them more useful than the gamma LT pants.

high quality. bad sizing

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I bought a large and medium to try. the mediums were a little short an too tight on my thighs. the larges were too wide on my waist but mostly for. I'm 6'1 190 lbs. I guess I need a large slim?

My favorite

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Very comfortable. Water repellent. Dry very fast. Nice pockets with zippers. Prefer them to my prana and mountain hardwear pants. Recently used it for 3 weeks in India from 25 to 110 degrees. Stitches solid. With my prana and hardwear pants I have so stitches problems.
