Weak

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

These socks were my first Stoic item that I had bought after hearing from a friend that the brand is quite good quality for the price. I bought the socks mid-sumer, it's now December and one or two pairs have holes. On the bright side, they're quite comfy and soft, but if you're looking for a good deal on socks, go to Costco!

They're just ok

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I have a bunch of these that I use as everyday socks in the fall/winter. They're ok for the purpose but don't expect to get much more than 1-1.5 seasons out of them depending on how often you wear them. My older pairs pill up and shed in the high wear areas (ball of foot, sides and bottom of heel, etc). I haven't had issues with these just blowing apart out of the blue, but it would be nice if they lasted longer before walking through them

Good at first, but...

I own nine pair of these socks. Got them for a good price on SAC. They were great at first, but after only 5 months of use every pair is worn out. Threadbare on the tip of the big toe from toenail rub as well as the heel and ball of the foot. I keep my nails cut and I haven't had an issue with other brands. 'Darn Tough' socks are much higher quality, and they have a lifetime warranty. Just wish I would have known that before I wasted my money on these...

Reliable but gets fuzzy

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

Comfortable and reliable for long hikes, i wore it as a base layer in colder temperatures, indoors when im out of my hiking boots without heating and for warmer hikes. Doesn't stink even after long use. The only down side is that the material gets rather furry after awhile.

I like the Synthetic Version Better....

Once on, these socks are comfortable, and have more padding than their synthetic sibling. But for me the synthetic version is much better. The merino version doesn't stretch at all, I found that I was always having to peel them on/off; what a pain especially with wet/damp feet. Also the merino wool does fall out sooner than the synthetic version, so after repeated washing's the synthetic version will have less "skin" showing through when being worn.

Collects fuzzy stuff

I'm a size 10 and the medium size fits really well. I wore these for two days on a 25+ mile trip and they were great. They held shape and didn't stink. When my feet got wet they dried quickly.

Hole in toe after 5 light uses

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I bought a 3 pack of these on Steep and Cheap and was pretty happy with them, though they did wear out a little fast. The toe seems to wear out quicker than other socks I've owned.

I decided to buy an additional pair when they popped up on SAC again and this pair didn't last it past 5 light uses. Sadly, the warranty department wouldn't refund or replace.

I run and hike quite a bit, and have used several brands of socks. I've never seen a sock get a hole in the toe so fast. I also keep my toenails trim.

I give this 2 stars because they were very comfy while they did last. Durability is an issue so be advised, or make sure you get a rock bottom price on them and don't pay full retail.

Great Product

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These are some of the best socks that I have gotten in a long time. They offer not only great fit true to your size , but a comfortable support and warm for outside. Can't wait to get a few more pairs.

Top Value

i really picked these up for everyday use. some of the other reviewers say they hiked 10 miles a day and they didn't hold up. i'm not much of a runner, so i don't know about that. but for everyday use, you can't beat this value. it's a good blend or merino, acrylic, and nylon that hasn't had any pilling issues but still keeps my feet dry and comfy. i like the above ankle height for wearing with pants in warmer temps.

    Perfect socks

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Used 1 pair of these for 6 days of extreme hiking on the North Coast Trail (Vancouver Island). You read correctly - 1 pair did me for the entire trip, and when I took them off on the last day they STILL had virtually NO smell to them. Paired with the Salomon Wings Sky boots, these socks helped keep my feet completely warm, dry, and blister free. I don't really have much to compare them to as they're my first pair of merino wool hiking socks, but they held up amazingly for the week-long trek I just finished. Will 100% buy more of these in the future.

NOTE: I wear the Stoic "no show" merino socks for basically everything else, and they are also an awesome product. You can't go wrong with Stoic merino socks, in my opinion.

    Luv the wool socks

I thought these might be too hot on me, I am one of those "hot foot" people. But no! They work great, perfect height to keep the dirt out (just over the ankle bone). You could use these multiple days without any issue and in just about any environment. These are a great deal too, the three pack is awesome. Get em while they last! Seriously.

Ok but there are much better out there.

I hike between 7 and 17 miles a day for work and own serveral differet brands of wool socks. These socks are ok but their moisture wicking and durability leave something to be desired. However, I would recommend spending a little more and getting either smartwool or point6.
