Rolls with the punches and breathes well for supreme comfort.

Let's face it; at the first sight of truly rugged trails, your cotton socks crumble into a sweaty mess. Next time, reach for the two-pack of Stoic Merino Comp Hiking Socks and treat your hard-working dogs right. Light cushioning underfoot takes some of the bite out of rough terrain, and synthetic fibers and breathable merino work together to control temperature and moisture so your feet feel comfortable, not stifled by sweat and heat. For support, Stoic added a touch of spandex at each instep, making extended treks on the long trail feel like a walk in the downtown park.

Great Socks

I bought a pair of these socks about a year ago and recently just purchased another pair. For the price these are some great socks. The material is very soft and they hold up great. The older pair are starting to show some wear on the heel and ball, but this is minimal. If you are size 9-10 I would go with the S/M. I wear a size 10 and these fit perfectly.

Great socks

We keep coming back for more. Good fit, good feel, good dryness.

My new go-to socks

I've been testing different socks, trying to find socks that don't have my feet killing me after 12 hours on my feet. I wear 9" full leather boots every day that breathe as well as a plastic bag, these still manage to keep my feet fairly dry and provide a decent level of support. They don't offer as much support as Smartwool PhDs that I've had, but at under $20 on sale, they're about half the price which really matters when you need to keep about two weeks worth of socks between laundry days. I haven't had them enough to know a lot about durability, but they're not showing any signs of wear or pilling yet.

not quite darn tough, but darn close

Love these socks. Super soft and comfy, but pretty durable too. I wear them pretty much every day for everything from backpacking to playing Ultimate. They don't get clammy and gross like cotton socks and still smell alright at the end of the day (or week...). I only give them four stars because I have a couple pairs of Darn Tough socks and they're the absolute best. But, these guys are half the price of the Darn Toughs, and almost as good, so that counts for something. Plus the graze/grey color looks wicked cool. They're the only pair of socks I've ever gotten compliments for.

Supermans' socks

At this point it almost seems pointless to comment on these, but I will. I am pretty new to non-cotton socks. The majority of my socks are the ones you buy on sale at target. You know the ones that are 30 pairs for like $10. These socks have put an end to that. I've had these for about a month now and have worn them several times. They have been machine washed at least 4-5 times and machine dried at least once. No signs of wear and still THE ABSOLUTE MOST COMFORTABLE SOCK I'VE EVER WORN. Thanks for your time.

Keep 'em coming!

I'm not sure if it's because of the ratio of materials, but these socks are more durable than any merino blends I've had before. After 3 months of heavy use (and a few accidental trips through the washer and dryer on rough cycles)these socks are showing no signs of wear. I'm going to be buying many more in the future!

Good socks

These are comfortable and well made. They have padding in all the right places and a thinner mesh style pattern on the top of the foot that breaths very well. My only very minor gripe is that they are thinner than I thought they would be. I bought a very similar pair when they were sold under the backcountry.com brand and those were a bit thicker and more sturdy.

Pretty good for the price so far

Picked up a 2 pack of these recently off of SAC and they definitely seem like a solid value for the price. Very comfy and soft w/ low profile padding around the entirety of the toes, lower foot, and heel up the achilles. The top half of the foot thins out significantly in a vented weave.

Maybe a little bit more synthetics in the mix than I would prefer but they seem to stay pretty dry and warm.

Not as anatomically correct/active as SmartWool PhD socks (they don't have the arch support and massaging action that I've come to love), but they're also ~1/4 the price grabbing them off SAC.

I normally wear between an 11.5 and 12.5 and the L/XL fit just fine.

If they hold up for a year - 2 years I'll be pretty happy w/ the purchase.

I like my socks. I have tons and tons and tons. Way too many. I've been wearing this to work with my dress shoes (don't really care if they match), as they are very comfy. They do slide down your calves a bit, but not an issue for me. I'll be curious to see how long before they start to wear out. Thinking I need more!

Great sock

I would give these socks five stars but there is a couple things I dont like about them.

First off the merino spandex mix is awesome; just right to fit around your foot and extra padding on the bottom/heel area is nice and comfy. I think they are much more comfortable than the few pairs of smartwools I have.

The bad things are two fold and not that big of a deal but they annoy me. First, they pill up pretty bad after washing them much more so than a lot of other socks I have. Second, the leg does not stay up and sags. This leads to bunching up around the top of your boot and you are always pulling them up. I hate this; it almost put them down to 3 stars but thats the only negative and I may be too picky. I will be buying more of these socks for sure but the saggy top is definitely a negative.

Stoic Merino Comp Hiking Socks

A great sock - controls temperature well, and merino wool is great with odor. I wore these for a few days in a row and minimal smell. Sizing for me was a bit off. I am 9.5 shoe size, chart says to go with L/XL, but S/M fits me better.
