I'd skip this one

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

These socks perform ok, but they became very worn very quickly on the back and bottom of the heel and the ball of the foot. Also, the are not very stretchy, which makes them very hard to put on. Maybe if you sized up it would work out, but these are definitely the socks I find left in my drawer when I've slacked on getting laundry done.

Perfect fit.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I love these socks. The fit is perfect. Can you believe a "R" and "L" sock? Still a perfect fit after washing. No wrinkles to cause blisters.

Exactly what I was looking for...

Great fit. Perfect for day hike with minimal loads. True to size. I have a 30 inch inseam and these stop just below my calf.

So, just bought two pairs and they are the first Merino wool socks I've owned. The first time I wore them, they got soaked pretty thoroughly by rain and slush. By the end of the work day, they absolutely stunk, like wet, awful grossness. My question is: Should this be expected with Merino wool socks each time they get wet? All the comments I've read keep saying how great Merino is, but to be honest if they smell this bad with just water on them, they will be unwearable with sweat stink.

I'd give em another try. Might have been the "new sock" stink?

answer is yes, but the stink is good. i have numerous merino socks(theyre all ill wear)
the smell is usually what sheep smell like! crazy i know. i have a pair of extra heavy cushion trekking socks that i use for backpacking and at the end of the day, its all sheep!

A good sock

Not many frills like the SmartWool PhDs I often wear, but waaaay cheaper. Snug fitting, so no sag on the leg. Good stitch placement; can't feel them. Cool aesthetic elements for when the shoes come off. Good all around sock for 4 seasons; not too thick, not too thin.

i wear these all year round also. the short " no show " are superb for around the house and trail running alike

Good, not great.

These socks are good at what merino does best. They are warm and breathe well, keeping those blisters away. I have found them to be -slightly- lacking in the durability department, but they are good for the price.

In a word? ...Awesome.

These are some of the most comfortable socks I've ever put on. That's not hyperbole... that's truth. I walk around Manhattan a lot and if I wear other socks I notice my heels start to hurt. These are great.

Would stock up my whole sock drawer with these. What a deal for the price. Soft, warm, wicks well. Size 9.5-10 is good for M/L

Quality sock

Well built and survived washing very well. The cushioning is perfect and they're very comfortable. I'm a size 12 and L/XL is a nice solid fit.
