If you spend as much time in ski boots as street shoes, you can appreciate the shortened Stoic Women’s Merino ¾-Length Bottom. Primarily made of odor-controlling, highly breathable natural merino wool, Stoic added spandex to promote comfort and mobility during high-octane activity. The Y-Elastic stitch technique makes a smooth, extremely comfortable seam at the waist and flat-stitch seams reduce rubbing.

Wanted to love these...

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I bought a pair of these on Steep and Cheap and loved them! Thin and breathable, but super warm and comfortable in the backcountry. My only issue is with the durability. After wearing and washing no more then 4/5 times, I was pulling them on and a large hole tore a few inches below the waistband. I have not put them through the wringer, and it isn't an issue with sizing as they are on the baggier side. I like the product, but probably won't buy again as the durability was poor for the price.

Love 3/4 length

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These pants are great because they are 3/4 length. I do not like to ski with long pants because your calf in the ski boots becomes bulky and long pants have extra material. This pair of long underwear is pretty thin. On cold ski days, I will put these on on top of another pair on compression 3/4 tights. Overall they are a great 3/4 long underwear bottom.

I would live in these!

I worked for a resort and skied every day last season, and these bottoms were one of 3 pairs I owned. I LOVE THEM. Great fit, perfect length for a ski boot (no more rolling up the leg or weird shin imprints/bruises from scrunched up bottoms all day...). Something about the wider waistband makes them surprisingly comfortable and secure (way more so than with my Cap 3's), and the fabric weight is great for all conditions. I'm 5'4, 125lb, and a small was perfect. Highly recommend!

The best for feel and comfort

Stoic wool has become my favorite, I buy their tops and bottoms. These woman's bottoms are so comfortable, you may not want to take them off.

I am 5' 7 , 36" hip, 33" waist. I have Mediums. The waist band is slightly loose yet they don't fall down, legs envelope without feeling tight. Fall just below my knee. Similar fit to the men's small, but the men's are sewn different and not as flattering. I just bought more to try another color. They are the most smooth feeling wool I have found, and the wool regulates body temp, dries fast, and not stinky. I wash with wool wash and hang dry.

    Good investment!

For how thin this merino fabric is, it sure delivers warmth. They are super soft and comfortable to wear for extended hours. The 3/4 length is just about perfect for skiing, as I was sick to death of rolling up my cuffs to get my thermals out of my ski boot. I highly recommend these for their comfort and performance. I only wash them every other time since the Merino wool doesn't get stinky! Definitely a good choice!

      3/4 Merino

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times

These are a great merino layer to add to your collection. I've used these snowboarding, hiking and at the gym. They feel amazing, and hold their shape well. One thing to note - I normally wear a small in just about everything, but the waist was a little too big. I ended up returning for an XS and they fit perfectly. If you are in between sizes, you might want to go down.

      Thin, warm, sexy--despite the waistband

      • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I actually flip the waistband over, depending on what I'm wearing. Perfect for skiing: no more folding long johns up over my calf and dealing with all those extra layers of fabric behind the knee! I'm 5'6", 130 lbs, slim athletic build, and the S fits great.

If you scroll down the page you will see I have already reviewed these pants last year. I just purchased these AGAIN this year and can honestly say I wear these at least 4 times a week. I wash them all the time and they have held up great. The fabric is not ichy and doesnt smell after you wash it like some other merino products out there. I had the grey last year and after a while I realized they were a bit see through, (not from wear, just the colorway) so this season I scored the black version and can say they are NOT see through. They are similar construction to last seasons version just different colorways. These bottoms run true to size. I have never had any issues with rips or holes and I can't wait to add this color into my rotation and wear these 7 days a week.

      Great Ski Thermals

These are great for ski thermals, boot cut. They do run a tad big, and after just a use, were stretched out enough that I have to wash them again. I've also used them for home workouts and they worked great (pretty sure I wouldn't wear them out to the gym for all to see). They are a great weight, which is my favorite part of these pants. Perfect for wearing under any ski pants to regulate body temp.

        Best you can buy!

Love the 3/4 length. Perfect for skiing, I can not stand when pants are down in my boots. They are very warm and extremely comfortable. I love the wide band on them. I wouldn't recommend them for wearing alone as they truly look like long underwear. I usually wear a medium in everything and these are a bit big but not too bad, I would buy a medium again. I will definitely be buying more, worth every single penny!

          Perfect for Multiuse

Merino wool product that is perfect for running, yoga, etc. and fine to wear as an outer layer in moderate temps. Runs about a size large. I typically wear a large and ordered these in a large in full length and they are quite loose but elastic band works and the feel is too good to return. Ordered in a medium this time in the 3/4 length and they fit perfect. Very comfortable and great value.

I love these guys. I bought them on SAC on a whim, and I probably didn't need them; I don't ski or do much cool stuff outside, unless you count running. Luckily, these tights are amazingly versatile. I wear them pretty much everywhere--alone on runs, under my clothes when it's super cold outside, to the gym, to bed, etc. They haven't pilled very much either, considering how much I wear them. And because they're merino, it seems like they hardly ever need washing. I wish I'd bought more than one pair! My only comment to stoic/BC would be to bring back the black ones--I think they look less underwear-y as another reviewer mentioned.

              hooray for merino

3/4 length is definitely the way to go for skiing. I was always just pulling up pants legs and the bunch would sit somewhere between the knee and the boot top. Great length. I like that Stoic put a wide waist band on these. For some reason a lot of companies put thinner waist bands on women's long underwear than they do on their men's long underwear. The wool is super soft and stretchy. I am planning on buying another pair soon.

                  BUY THESE.

looks like I don't even need to tell you how great these 3/4 length bottoms are because everyone else on the page has said it. All I have to say is that the 2011/2012 model run true to size & the elastic isn't too tight or too loose. Perfect for slaying the slopes then lounging around the house afterwards. I would like 20 pairs of these please.

                  Perfect moutain bottoms

Fit is superb (true to size and not too tight at the calves, plenty of room for the skiier's/cyclist's badonk and thunder thighs), length is great for ski and mountaineering socks (no more weird layer bunching under boots), and they are warm and soft. Not at all scratchy, merino wool is my new favorite fiber for every piece of clothing.

The length is, as others have mentioned, closer to a 5/8 length (the top of the cuff hits right below my knees), but this is a good thing as they don't really have anywhere to go when I'm being active.

I am a woman with a 36" inseam. Do you...

I am a woman with a 36" inseam. Do you carry any thermal wear that would be long enough? Or, is this my best option? Other suggestions? Thanks.
