Description

Experience Bliss.

With its soft, naturally odor-resistant 17.5-micron Merino wool knit and ½ neck zip, the Stoic Women's Merino Bliss Lightweight Top covers you in functional comfort, minus the synthetic funk factor. We made this next-to-skin top with ridiculously comfortable New Zealand Merino, rub-reducing flat-locked seams and side panels, and a body-heat venting ½ chest zip so you can blow off some steam after a mean summit push or a tricky boulder problem. Merino wool transfers moisture while your sweat is in its primary vapor form, so unlike most synthetic fabrics the Merino Bliss Top begins to pull moisture away from your body before your shirt becomes saturated. And since wet usually means cold in the backcountry, warm Merino is the way to go. Stash your lip balm, energy gel, or other small items in the Bliss Top's zippered chest pocket for safe keeping while you're on the go. A reflective logo hit on the Merino Bliss Top's collar ensures a little more safety during your evening runs, and the thumbholes at the cuffs take the bunch out of layering.

Favorite wool long sleeve

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love this top. It is soft, not itchy at all. It has a long cut to it, i like my shirts long. The panels are flattering and bring out my good curves. I love thumb holes, they keep the underlayer pulled out of my sleeves and the wind chill down.

Nifty baselayer, interesting fit...

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really like this baselayer, especially its awesome colors. Heads up: it runs very slim through the tummy. This is good for tucking into your ski pants, but maybe not always flattering. I put a vest over it when at the office :) I have the XS and it fits through the shoulders and torso length just fine. I don't exactly like the stash pocket on the side though--teensy bit uncomfortable. So far no stink in the armpits!

Least flattering shirt I've ever worn

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I decided to give Stoic a try because of the gorgeous colors and got 3 different shirts.

Returned all - the fit is terrible for petites.

This thing tapers from top to bottom, as if it's a man's shirt. By the time it hit my hips, I didn't think it could stretch over my ski pants. I'm 5'1", 115 lb - it might work well for someone much taller than me.

Mediocre

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This base layer is OK for the price. Mine seemed to wear out pretty darn quickly and have the old ratty look and stink that doesn't wash out. I would buy another one, but with the fore thought that it just wouldn't last for more than a season very well.

Stoic makes a great baselayer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Great fit, warm, nice on the skin (no itch). Form fitting - check the size chart when you order. Colors look great and hold up with repeated washing. Highly recommended!!!

Love

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

The colors were true to the image - the material is soft but durable. Great for hiking, camping, hanging out in. Arm length was great and the shirt is long enough to cover my long torso. (5"6 C-cup)

My go-to shirt

This shirt have become my go-to shirt. It doesn't mater if it's a lazy Sunday morning, a road trip, a hike, a camping trip, XC skiing, etc. This is the shirt I will wear. When I first got my shirt I was a bit disappointed that the sleeves were too short for me to comfortable use the thumb holes (I have long arms). Regardless, the shirt is so soft and comfy so I find myself wearing it quite often anyway and I rarely miss the option of using the thumb holes.

Mmmmmmm wool

I love just about everything Stoic does and this is no exception. The colorblocking looks cool and is flattering, the fit is standard for the brand (runs small, cut for athletic proportions). This and their other tops were in rotation daily all winter long and they still look good after being washed a thousand times.

Great baselayer

I've used it winter hiking ans skiing and its a nice warm and comfortable base layer. It fits great, and its not itchy. I bought a small and its a bit loose on me but I like it like that. If you are petite like me (108lb) and want it form fitted I would go for an XS. I am a big STOIC fan.

Great weight/material, stupid pocket

Just wore this today for a hike in Pacific NW in 60 degree weather. Kept me warm in the shade and cool enough in the sun as needed. The thumb holes/long sleeves were perfect and avoided the need for gloves. Love the bright color which could be seen on the trail easily. What I don't like is the zippered pocket which is on the waist. WHY? If you tuck your shirt in, it will rub against the pants waist and is uncomfortable. It is a stupid place for a pocket IMHO and necessitates you wear it outside of your pants. Sometimes I will, sometimes I don't want to. Won't buy more with that pocket, but will buy more of this product w/o the pocket flaw. The pocket is big enough to fit an Iphone4, but it seems something that heavy might stretch this lightweight material. Love everything but the pocket so it gets s 4 for that stupid pocket.

Base layer as outerwear.

I've never owned anything by Stoic, but thought the styling was great. I know that it's supposed to be a base layer piece, but I've been wearing it with jeans. It's warm and comfortable and I've gotten lots of compliments on the look. I'm 5' and 105lbs, the XS works well, though I have wide shoulders and monkey arms. There was a little shrinking after a few washings, but still fits fine (tight). However, the side zipper set off the TSA scanner at the airport. Still, I love this shirt and have bought 2 more Stoic 150 tops.

Not quite right for me.

Got a M and a L. I am 5'4" and 130 lbs and am not a zero BMI, but average range. I did not care for the tapered fit around the waist/belly. I prefer a looser fit around that section. And they have a pocket right there that doesnt make much sense to me for that purpose of garment. I have average - not long arms and I found the sleeve lengths in both sizes acceptable and the thumb holes OK, but they did seem to twist the sleeves a little weird that gave me pause. Not a deal breaker. The deal breaker was that I just didn't really like the snug fit accentuating my roll of a belly which is not that big, but wasn't a flattering fit. Rest of the fit is OK so why did they have to do that around the mid section? Not sure if it is warm, but sure does seem too light to do much. I will definitely return the M and maybe return the L. I prefer Icebreaker M fit and finish. I do like the Stoic colors.

Stoic does it again!

  • Gender: Female

Stoic always has been coming back for more of their great products. This shirt is no exception. It fits and layers well. The thumb holes seem just a tid bit funny when wearing the shirt but I have found that ALL Stoic products do that on me. It's warm and the colors pop! I'm a size Med and the med fit me well.

My Favorite Shirts

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

They feel and look so great that I wear them to church as well as on the slopes. I love that the colors match the Stoic Boy Shorts underwear. My husband likes them on me, too; who knew that wool could be sexy?

Great shirt

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love all of my Stoic shirts and wear them frequently. I often layer this one over my short-sleeved shirt. I ordered one size up to keep it from being too fitted. I enjoy its soft and stink-free comfort.

Wife Loves it

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this for my wife who is usually pretty picky, she absolutely loves it. Very light yet warm. Definitely recommend.

nice light base layer

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like this shirt; great color (black/pink); good fit( 5'9"", 133 lbs, medium); good sleeve length; slim fit without being too snug; good length. Good collar as well. A bit lighter weight than I was looking for and I would have liked a bit of lycra for a more athletic fit, but in all, a good looking light weight base layer.

Good Base Layer

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I bought the top and bottoms for my daughter. They are not only comfortable and warm, but attractive colour and style.

Great Wool Layer

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I gave the Stoic merino layer a go. First off, the fit works for me. The sleeves are long enough. That's one of my main concerns. It's a soft layer and the black/boysenberry color looks great. I really don't use the thumb holes. Can't comment on whether or not they're placed in a good spot. Overall, wool just feels (and smells) so much nicer than most synthetics. And the little card zipper pocket is neat.
