Here's what others have to say...

I got this for my wife for Christmas.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

She has not taken it off since.

nice weight for running or hiking

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I got the shirt in the coral color. It is not as vibrant or dark a color as is shown. It is more like a salmon color, which was a little disappointing. I wore it hiking all day and despite sweating a lot, I was comfortable all day and did not stink. It also is nice for running and cycling. It is good for a spring or fall day or for a base layer on a colder day. The fit is flattering. It can fit under other clothing or can be worn on its own. I also like that the stoic shirts hang a little longer around my waist than other shirts and don't ride up. It stayed completely underneath my pack harness. My only wish is that it had a zippered pocket.

Merino!

This is a great top. Very soft and comfortable. I use mine year round for skiing, as well as backpacking in the mountains in the spring and fall.

Head Opening

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The shirt itself is nice but the head opening on my shirt is so small it's uncomfortable to put on and take off.

pretty sweet shirt

This is my second merino shirt, I opted for the 200 because I wanted it a little bit thicker so I could wear it without a vest over it. I also have an icebreaker merino shirt, I find the stoic one a pinch itchier, though not annoyingly so, than the icebreaker one when I first put it on, but once I'm out and about I don't notice the difference any longer. I also went with the 200 because I have to wear a vest over or a cami under the icebreaker one so you can't see through it and I wanted a shirt I could just wear as is and this one fit's the bill. Because of that, I tend to reach for my stoic one more often than the icebreaker one. The fit is flattering and I believe true to size. I love the dark forest color too, its so pretty with the boysenberry accented stitching. Get it, you won't regret it!

How does this compare to the Stoic Merino...

How does this compare to the Stoic Merino 150 Crew? I'm assuming warmer/heavier? & the pictures show they have thumb holes to which your tech specs says it does not.

Responded on

This one is just a little thicker and heavier, so it would be warmer.
