    Light, lofty, layered.

The Stoic Women's Down Parka is the only layer you need for winter's bone-chilling temperatures. Light and lofty down insulation warms you up without weighing you down, and there's synthetic insulation inside the hood to stay warm when wet. Two full-zip fronts give the Down Parka a layered look, and the removable faux fur trim gives an après style. There are wrist gaiters to keep cold out of the sleeves, and multiple pockets inside and out for sufficient storage.

    • Down insulated body and sleeves
    • Synthetic insulated hood
    • Removable faux fur trim
    • Wrist gaiters
    • Handwarmer, chest, and zippered pockets

    Great for the money

    • Fit: True to size

Over all I think this is a great down coat for the fact that it is $60. I like that there is the inner zipper that can either improve the wind resistance or allow for some ventilation and I like the pockets on it (the upper ones are fake, just so ya know).
I'm a little worried about the zippers in the long run because they are plastic, but I think with careful use they should be fine. And the hood is definitely a little big, I anticipate the fur being annoying when snow gets trapped in it and am considering trailering in a draw cord to be able to contract it.
I think the fit is perfect - I sometimes have a hard time with jackets being too tight in the shoulders and way to big in the waste, but this fit just fine even with a sweater.
Bottom line: If you are on a budget this is a great jacket.

    bad zippers

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Literally got it out of the box, tried it for the first time, and it failed. Looked great, bulky but justifiable if it performed well in cold. There is an inner lining zipper and outer coat zipper. The inner lining zipped up super fast. The outer one wouldn't catch on the bottom for a while, there are snap buttons so I figured maybe I could live without it. Stepped briefly into the windy cold, felt like the bottom billowed out too much and air was getting in- no way to cinch it tighter- and overall not warm enough to get it. Inside, tried to unzip the inner lining, heard a *rip* by my sternum as the zipper got caught in a fold next to the zipper. Really?? Trying it on was too much for the product!

    Incredible jacket

It fits excellent, it looks so gorgeous and elegant while being an all terrain jacket, water resistant (almost waterproof) and full windproof. I estimate that gives you the heat comparable to a 600-700 insulated fill down jacket.

Isn't an ultralight jacket (like insulated&ultraportable jackets) but is still light enought.

Recommended to any women who looks to keep his heat and remains full isolated from head to (almost) knees without losing glamour.

    Warm in Montreal!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

Overall I am satisfied with this jacket for the price. I bought it to travel to Montreal in February. Pros are: cheery red color, super warm, useful two zipper option, pocket for phone, water resistance, great faux fur hood that kept the sleet off my face. Cons are: its a bit heavy, no way to cinch hood so I can see, a bit bulky around the back waist so not fitted for slimmer frames. Overall great but I felt slightly out of fashion in a trendy city. I'd recommend this for hiking and adventures!

    I really like it.

I wanted a warm goose fill coat that wouldn't cost me 500-900 so I have put off buying one for a long while. I figured it this one wasn't great it wasn't that expensive. I actually love it. The double zipper is a nice feature. I can leave the inner zipper all the way up and feel warm. Zipper the outer and nothing is getting in. I am quite surprised at how warm it is. It's a good design, no wind is getting though at all. The fit is a big snug but I don't mind that. If you want a looser fit go one size up.

    Girlfriend loves the jacket

    • Fit: True to size

My girlfriend got this jacket as a lighter jacket compard to her North Face Parka. She loves it. It fits true to size and is perfect for anywhere between 20 and 45 degrees. I wouldn't suggest this jacket for any temps lower than probably 10 though, unless you are layering.

    Warm and comfortable!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I gave this as a gift to my girlfriend for Christmas and she loves it. She has found it to be very warm and comfortable for her walks to school in the cold, wind and snow. Fits true to size.

A couple things to note. The inner layer is not removable, you can however zip the inner up independently of the outer which is a feature she has found very handy. Also the top 'pockets' are not really pockets. But the bottom pockets have the drop pockets under the snaps, and a zipper up the side for handwarmer pockets.

Overall a great buy especially considering the prices of similar jackets from other manufacturers.

Is it coated with DWR to help keep the moisture out? I need a warm parka for a trip to Iceland in March but don't want to spend too much $. One of the other comments said "material appears weatherproof" but I want to double check. Thanks in advance!

Mother's Christmas Present, she loves it

I bought this as a Christmas present for my mother, and she is in love. She loves the warmth and weight of it. I bought her another lightweight down she also loves , so this was a good addition as it is more of a heavyweight jacket. She has yet to wear it in any major weather , but material appears weatherproof and durable. Fit wise for her, the parka is definitely a parka fit on her, not too trim, but looks nice without being bulky. She feels stylish in the removable fur trim as well. Great coat for the price. Sizing is true, not fitted, but regular fit.

Kept warm in coldest temps, blizzards

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: XL

I wanted to love this parka, as it kept me perfectly warm in the 12 degree temps and blizzards of my first Utah Winter, but the fit was just too boxy and frumpy. The thick fabric, wrist gaiters, double front zipper and fur-trimmed hood did a great job at keeping frosty winds out, but just made me feel like a potato sack most of the time, and the hood itself, while helmet compatible, was just too big for everyday, non-helmet use and covered my eyes almost entirely.

    ???
    Is this water proof?
How much down fill in this jacket?
    Center back length?
