This is my favorite shirt for everything, hiking, relaxing, you name it. I love how light it is. Dries incredibly fast. I am pretty careful about trying not to snag it when I'm trail running, but I have and haven't noticed any runs in the fabric. As for sizing, I have a 45" chest . I choose the xl just for a little more comfort and didn't want to have the nips on full display at all times. If i was using this as a base layer I would go with the large (as i do with the long sleeve version). As far as the arm lenght, I dig it. I have sleeveless shirts to show of the guns when needed.
Serves me well

I ran the Tough Mudder event in this shirt. It took the beating and washed off clean. I wear a medium t-shirt so I bought this in a medium, but I may have been better off to get a small. This is a good shirt, and Stoic is a good brand.
Love it! Just bought my second.

I bought one of these ~4 months ago and absolutely love it. It's become my go to shirt for any intense cardio activity (trail running, backpacking, etc), and is also great for traveling. It's noticeably lighter weight than several other quick dry shirts I have, which makes a big difference on hot summer days here in LA. It also has a small tag/loop at the bottom of the shirt which makes it easy to clip to a line for hang drying. I've had no quality problems with my first shirt. I've only worn my second shirt once and noticed some fuzzballs forming after a bike ride, but no other problems. I'm 5'7", 155 lbs and the medium fits me great.
Poor quality

This is the first Stoic item I've ever bought and will definitely be the last. The shirt looks good and fits well, but the quality of the shirt is either incredibly low or quality control is sub par. Just came back from the gym wearing this shirt and I noticed loose threading in the back. Its my first time wearing it and I can't imagine what it could snag on at the gym. I can't even imagine how this would hold up on a hike. I got it for $24.50 and that price is already too much for a shirt of this quality. Full price at $49 is highway robbery. Will definitely return this.
Super light and thin

Pros: super light, feels great against your skin, and looks great!
Cons: because it is super lightweight and thin it likes to stick to my short chest hairs and bunch up in many different designs. Would probably be fine for longer chest hairs or smooth chests.

I bought this shirt and initially really loved. I was about to purchase 2 more, fortunately I didn't. I washed it... I was really disappointed as it gets little snags in it like a cheap shirt. No better than a Champion C9 shirt you can get at Target.
great shirt!

When the descrip says super-light it really means super light. My shirt came with one or two fabric 'pulls'. If it weren't for that, I'd give it 5 stars straight up.
Sweet shirt!

This is a lightweight, comfortable shirt that's perfect for running on hot days. It runs a little big, though. Not sure if it's enough to size down.
Nice shirt, makes me feel a little fat

Great shirt! I bought it on sale and i must say, while a very nice shirt, i wouldnt pay full price for it because it is soo thin. Im 6'0'', 200lbs, very athletic build and because its so thin i feel chubby wearing it. Also, when i run around in the woods i worry i will tear it up.
Overpriced, but awesome

Shirt fit is very athletic, as described, and the material wicks moisture and repels your stench. That said, I wouldn't buy this shirt at full price. Ridiculous. On SAC, though, get a bunch of these whenever you see them. Absolutely worth it.
Great Layer

I'm 6'5" tall and 205lbs and this shirt in Large fits well. It's snug but not tight so not alot of extra fabric to bunch when I layer it which is nice. It's light enough that I can wear it under a cycling jersey when I ride if I need just a touch more insulation on a cool ride. Great shirt for warm day activities. Dries quickly. Good stuff.
Just Okay...expected more with such high reviews.

I know I'm going against the grain here (+52 reviews avg 5 star rating), but for those who like the best...trust me, there is better.
So I received this shirt in the mail today. It's just OK. I saw these guys were on sale for 19 bucks during the memorial day sale and thought of picking up one then, but ended up ordering a ton of other stuff so I didnt. Well I decided to pull the trigger a few days ago during the free 2-day shipping. I must say I'm not impressed. I do like the color black. It actually is much more of a dark grey than a black. It also fits fairly well-but not perfect. The neck is tight, and the arms are just a little long. Not long enough to look funny, but longer than other shirts.
The biggest thing that surprises me is the shirt retails for $49. If you happen to be one of the unlucky people who orders this shirt when it's not on sale...well...I don't even know what to say. All I know is I paid $26 for mine and still found it only so-so. I have only bought one other stoic brand item (stoic Vamp 30 sleeping bag) and thought it was AWESOME! This tshirt, not so much. For the half the price The North Face Velocitee does the same thing (right now $13). The material is like most average polyester athletic shirts, nothing special here. At an original price of $49 from stoic, I thought I might be receiving a product with materials comparable to arc'teryx-NOPE. I am returning the shirt.
There are better fitting, nicer materials out there for not much more, or in some cases less money. Don't let the 45-55% off fool you.
great shirt

Great performance shirt for everything from hiking to biking to climbing. It breathes fairly well and the antimicrobial finish prevents you from smelling funky every time you get a sweat going. I am 5'10 and the large fit me perfect, even though I have a longer torso.
great shirt

Sooooo good, I bought two. They're light, comfortable, easy to care for...what more could you ask for. Oh, they're stylish too!!
I've worn these out to concerts and just recently, MTB riding....very versatile piece of clothing.
Just one thing

Love the shirt - the fit, the breathable material, the color. The only thing I would complain about is that the material snags easily.

I'm 5'11" 200lbs. and bought the XL. Perfect fit and very comfortable. It is extremely lightweight. I crashed my mountain bike while wearing this and there is a snag in the fabric, but you will obviously lose some durability when using a fabric as lightweight as this. I think it's a trade-off worth making as long as you're aware of that.
