This version of the Stoic Breathe T-Shirt is most comparable in weight to the Patagonia Capilene 2 layers. Fabric weight of 146 grams per square meter.

I needed a long-sleeved shirt and always love thumb holes, so I thought I would try Backcountry's brand, Stoic, since the price was so good. I was pleasantly surprised - the shirt looks pretty cool and feels well made. Usually inexpensive outdoor gear looks and feels cheap (not to mention like you borrowed it from your Grandma's closet of Land's End gardening clothes) I have worn it twice so have no real basis to comment on its durability. It fits true to size - I am 5'6" and 115 pounds and the XS fits perfectly. I am definitely going to check out other Stoic items and potentially get another one of these shirts while they are on sale.

My wife is 5'2" and weighs 95 pounds soaking wet...do you think an XS would work for her in this shirt?

If there is, it's not given. Maybe check out some of the Stoic merino pieces, merino wool has a natural UPF.

My favorite technical T so far. It is long enough for my torso so that it doesn't ride up when I run and the fit is perfect, not too tight or loose, just follows your body shape (I am 139 lbs, 5'5" with a 30" inseam and bougt a size Medium). The weight of the shirt is also good so that it doesn't fly around when you exercise but is still soft and super comfortable. I also wore during a 3-day backcountry hiking trip and it was great. Plus it looks very flattering. Worth the extra $$ for sure.
