Old man winter might try to freeze you out of the mountains, but the Stoic Women's Breathe Composite Zip-T helps maintain your core warmth in order to thwart the cold. Silky smooth Breathe composite material provides light insulation, wicks moisture away from your skin, and breathes away sweaty vapors so you stay comfortable underneath. Wear this top alone when you head out for a trail run on a brisk morning, or layer the Zip-T over a baselayer and toss on a jacket when a dawn-patrol ski tour calls your name.

Old Man Winter

Because of sporting this shirt Old Man Winter was kept at bay... This shirt is a bit tight fitting, but as a baselayer/winter running shirt it gets the job done. The arm pocket is super awesome for storing small essentials. Many of the reviews mention the sleeves on this are super long, but I haven't noticed it. Overall, my only complaint is that it is so tight fitting.

    Bought it for my gf

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small

My girlfriend loves it. She says its one of her favorite shirts to wear when we hike in the fall/winter. And she loves to wear it all around. Says it breathes well and wears very comfortably.

    Made for the long-armed

Nice shirt but a bit tight in the shoulders and the sleeves are really long. I think that the quality is top notch; Stoic gear is great. However, like many of my other Stoic clothes, this shirt has sleeves made for a scrawny-armed orangutan, this shirt is perhaps worse than others. I am keeping the shirt though because I like its quality to value ratio and I can easily fix the long sleeves by rolling them up. Bottom line: I recommend this shirt if extra long sleeves don't bother you too much.

      Such a Comfy Baselayer :)

      • Size Bought: Medium

Fits exactly how I desire for it to fit. Slightly tight in some areas, but definitely a fitted shirt where it is more loose. Can easily fit under a sweatshirt or thicker fitness shirt. Quite thin, but quite warm.

      It's great

Most reviews I read love the long sleeves and I usually love them too, however these are longer than I thought. It's my only complaint, but I'd rather have too long than too short.

If you have long arms, look elsewhere

If you have the shoulders and arms of a skinny teenager, this base layer will work great for you. If you have any muscle mass whatsoever in your upper body, prepare to size-up. Even then, the sleeves still aren't long enough for someone like me (5'8'', 135 lbs, purchased size medium). Since I prefer to have my wrists covered in below freezing temps (crazy, I know), this was a disappointing purchase.

      Great Baselayer!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I gave this as a gift for the holidays and all I have recieved is positive feedback. The person who uses it said it is great as a top base layer because there is enough room to put 1 or 2 layers underneath it without feeling bulky. The zipper is also nice so you can let out some steam if you go inside without having to take all your layers off. Overall she seems very happy!

Got this for my sister in-law. She needed a M since her arms are longer, but it fits great and gives her great length to her waist. Since it is a M it could probably be tighter fit, but she'll most likely have a t-shirt on underneath. Great for being active, she coaches outside in all seasons/weather. Super soft. Probably should gift her some Nikwax to lengthen the life of this piece.

Great Gift for mother, and myself!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great midweight midlayer. It is soft and comfortable, but a tighter fit if you are used to loose layers. The arms are long (which is great as I come from a long arm gene pool) and a good length on the torso as well. My mom got the teal and loves it, wears it all the time in fall and winter. Runs true to size if you want it snug, size up if you want it more loose

      Washed once and looks horrible

      • Fit: True to size

Loved this top until it was washed. Delicate, cold water, medium spin and it pilled all around the shoulder stitching like there were velcro pulls. Only washed with tights and tee shirt. Can't figure out why it happened. I will be returning it if they take it back. Zero stars as is does not hold up.

      Not for wide hips

Nice soft material. Upper half fit great, but lower half way too tight for going over ski pants. Sleeves a couple of inches too long.

      I'm 5'1", 115 lb, and I tried Medium.

      Gift for mom

Gave this to my Mom for a Christmas gift and I don't think she took it off until she vacationed in Hawaii! I can't personally comment on fit, but it seemed to fit her nice, the way a mid-heavyweight baselayer should. She loves that arm pocket too to throw a house key in when she goes for winter runs. The color schemes on this are great too.

        Runs small

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you want a tight fitting baselayer, this is great. If you are wanting to layer it over anything more than a thin sports bra, size up. Otherwise, it is a nice composit piece with very long sleeves.

        LOVE me some Stoic!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have yet to be disappointed by anything Stoic that I have purchased. This is by far my favorite Stoic piece. It might be my favorite piece in my wardrobe! I am 5'5" and 125 and ordered a size medium. Plenty of room in the bust, but still fitted around my waist. Love the long-enough sleeves! Nothing to complain about here :) I can't wait to get more colors as they come out!!

        Buy it!

I got the extra small (5'4 105 lbs) and I also got the Icebreaker BodyFit 200 Chakra 1/4-Zip Top. I prefer the Icebreaker so far in that this shirt feels really clingy. I realize as a base layer it's supposed to feel this way but with the thickness of the fabric it's an adjustment for me (not a bad thing, just different). Compared to the Icebreaker this one has absolutely NO itch factor and this base layer has a stash pocket. This shirt would be great on it's own for fall running/hiking where as I would be hesitant to wear the ice breaker base layer by itself. The zipper on this one zips far enough down to see the top of my sports bra. Also the lenght of this shirt is very nice, the bottom covers just a tad bit lower than my stomach and the sleeves can be pulled a bit to cover the tops of my hands. Great shirt.

        A very satisfied customer

We bought a few base layers for the ski trip up north. This is my favourite one by far. I love the combination of the colour design and it feels really comfy wearing it. I am in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy (hence only my hubby skied, I did snowshoeing),but I bought my pre-pregnancy size, the long cut and the fabric accommodate my belly really well! It also washed well too.

is the little pocket on the side good for...

is the little pocket on the side good for an ipod?

Depending on how old your iPod is (maybe some of the really old ones would be too big?), you can fit most of them into that pocket. My wife uses this pocket on her Stoic Breathe shirts when she is running with an iPod mini. You can fit an iPhone in there too - so most devices should work fine. I think it would be small for the really big phones (Galaxy III, etc).
