Here's what others have to say...

Base layer.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I use these as a base layer when I go snowboarding. I bought a large thinking they'd fit, defiantly took a chance, they were too big. And they don't have a stretchy band. No problem! Cut a little hole in the inside and put some string in there and fashioned myself a waist band tie. After that they seem to work just fine for me. They are a loose fit so they're not like leggings. But I still like them.

Returning.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

These pants were exactly what my wife was looking for... until she tried them on. They have almost NO stretch as you would think. The waist is cut so low your crack would be sure to make an appearance with every sit and bend. No good when it comes to trying to protect your behind from the slopes. She will be returning these.

Sending these back

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I own another pair of Stoic pants (Stoic Breathe Composite Bottom) that I love so I thought I'd give these a whirl despite the mediocre reviews. I'm not happy with the fit; the waist is too low, the butt is too big, and there's not quite enough stretch. The only thing I like about them is the color (boysenberry).

Meh, coulda been better

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

These are definitely no bueno for any activity that involves much movement. However, they are decent for lounging around the house with hot cocoa and would probably be great for added warmth as a baselayer while camping or standing around a bonfire. They have the butt panel thing going on, so they aren't especially cute as leggings. Wear them for warmth--that's it.
[I have another pair of Stoic pants that I *love* so that might be keeping me from hating these too hard.]

Don't stay up!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these despite the other reviews indicating that they didn't quite fit right and don't stay up. I figured it was such a good deal that it was still worth it. I'm not sure about that. The jade color is beautiful, and they are more textured than the images show. They didn't seem that warm and they definitely don't stay up. There is no stretch to them so they fit a little awkwardly. Even doing work around the house I have to keep adjusting them. I tried to wear them on a hike, and that was just an uncomfortable mess. I was hoping I could break them in and they would fit better, but it hasn't worked yet. I'd suggest saving your money for a better fitting baselayer.

Not a fan...

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

These are my least favorite base layer. They are loose and tight at the same time and don't stretch to move with you, so if I'm bending at the knees at all, it pulls the waistband down. Having to stop to adjust my base layer every couple of runs because my pants are falling down is not a nice feature. And on top of that, they were not very warm.
My opinion? Spend a little more and buy a different brand, like patagonia.

Undecided

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have worn these about 5 times. They keep me very warm as a base layer while skiing. They are soft and run true to size. All that said, I noticed yesterday that they have a hole near one of the seams by the ankle. I am very disappointed because I really do like them.

Looser than I though

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Looser than i thought they would be, but still good. feel nice under my other pants like jeans and dress pants. pretty good protection against the wind in the winter.

Would not stay up!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These were okay under ski pants, but if I tried to walk around or run in them they immediately fell down.

Very tight around knees

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This baselayer material is not stretchy and even though I can wear an XSmall, I bought a Small. This item fits comfortably everywhere except they are too tight around the knees to be comfortable. The material bunches up and constricts movement in the knees especially for hiking and cross-country skiing.

Awesome, But not as expected

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I bought these for my wife. Initial impression is they look great. They are not a flat material, they more textured which will help breath and wick moisture because of more surface area.

That said, My wife has a 34'' inseam. We bought a large and they are too short for her. If you have long legs I would suggest a different option but they would be great for someone being active and without extra long legs.

Responded on

Also, these are not a 'legging' they are an active baselayer.

Love these

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I use these to run and walk around in Utah, it's winter right now and I can wear them on my own and I don't freeze. I can also wear them when I'm aerobic and I don't overheat. Really flattering and don't show any "bumps" or "bulges". I will buy the other colors :) I wear a size 11 pant and large fits well.
