Good fit, comfortable

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

In the past I have always worn tight fitting bottoms for skiing and winter running, and was happy to find that I like the fit on these a lot. The looser fit feels really nice on (not itchy at all) and move really well. They keep you warm and are light enough to run in.

Good tights, but too high-rise

Based on the other reviews it sounds like the sizing is unpredictable in these bottoms, which seems a bit common for Stoic gear. Anyway, I am 30x32 and got a small. The legs are tight enough and the fit is good. Plenty warm for running in the midwestern cold.

The one drawback is the crotch is too low or the waistband is too high. You can think about it either way. If they shaved off an inch or two these things would be vastly improved. As it stands you can choose between old-man high waistline or a saggy crotchal region. I go the second route and pair them with boxer briefs anyway so no worries. A real bargain for the SAC price.

    • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought these for my bf for Christmas. He hardly ever wears any base garment unless it's a super cold day. Park City's temperature had been in 10s for 2 weeks in the beginning of January. He rode with these on everyday under a shell. According to him, it's a pretty good base layer, plenty warm on the cold days. They do hang loose, never like spandex. The only issue is that they tends to twist around the calves as the day goes on. It's not too big of a deal, but plan on re-adjusting every few hours. Overall, he's happy with them!
