January-morning chairlift rides and howling ridgeline winds have nothing on the waterproof breathable Stoic Women’s Bombshell Ski Pant. Ergonomically fitted for the fairer gender, these ski pants own storm days. The Bombshell Pants’ 3-ply waterproof breathable fabric holds the elements at bay, and fully welded construction offers a dynamic fit and increased breathable area compared to standard seam-taped ski pants so you aren’t left sweltering at the end of the run. Adjustable waist tabs offer a customized fit and Keprotech-reinforced cuffs stand up to ski edges and rocks.

Bottom Line: Giving the finger to frozen lifts and spindrift.

My girlfriend is 5'6" and has some pretty bomb curves. She was wearing large Burton Gore AK pants until they got stolen last weekend. Would a large in these Stoics be to large?

I Love these pants!!!

By:
January 26, 2011

First off...the color of these pants is so awesome! Second...they are almost entirely what I was looking for. The material may look and even feel like it will rip if it catches on anything, but it won't...they are totally bomber! Way waterproof too! Water and snow literally repel away like the wrong ends of magnets trying to be pushed together...the water flies off the second it touches the pants! I was looking for a shell pant that I wouldn't get too hot in, that had good ventilation, and were flattering in an awesome color. I hit all those things in ordering these pants. My only complaint is that I wish they had more than just the single layer of fabric so that there was the tiniest bit of insulation (that is because I am used to the North Face Freedom Shell Pant though). But I have been wearing the hard core CW-X Insulator Stabilyx pants underneath this shell, and even on the coldest and windiest days I am fine as long as I am not at a dead standstill all day. (That is just me though...I do well with pretty cold temps and I just really hate being even the tiniest bit hot...so if you are looking to stay really warm...these are probably not the pants for you) They fit great. I am 5'8" and 135 lbs. I usually wear a size medium in everything (pants, shirts, etc.). My waist is 27" and my hips are 34" and my inseam is about 30", and the medium fits me absolutely perfectly...and they make me look like a girl instead of a guy...which I love! Thanks Stoic for making a great and flattering ski pant! (If anything...keep the color and add some other layer to the shell...but maybe not, cuz it is a shell... I still love them though!) and thanks to Backcountry for making them available to me!

Bomb proof

These pants are very nice. Fit well. welded and taped. The material has a lot of streatch to it. The material is very thin and my guess is not super warm. My wife is tall 5'10 and the L drags the ground. She loves the fit and they look nice. They are a top quality pant. Would be nice to see an insulated version as well.

So, here's the dealio: I'm 6 '1'', an avid skier, and I have pants that are a fantastic length from Powder Room (they're so long they DRAG!)... BUT!!! They're too small in the waist. I'm not very curvy, nor am I super skinny. I'm what you'd call... average. But I have big thighs and long legs. I want ski pants that fit well, are long and able to stay closed while I ski (which my current pants don't, and never have... they were the only ones). Any suggestions? Oh, and colour isn't really a must, but a definite perk! (As in, I LOVE the pink of these pants!) Also, I have a round bum, so that's a must as well :P
So: Long legs, comfortable bum and waist fit, tough and optionally pretty. Are these the pants for me?

Dierdra - I would recommend ordering the size Large. Size Large has an inseam of 31.5 inches. If you receive and determine they do not fit, just send 'em back.

Hope that helps.

Look great, feel great...but not warm

By:
February 22, 2011

These pants really look and feel great. Flattering fit, stretch fabric is very comfortable. Given that they are not insulated, I wasn't expecting them to be toasty, but adding to the chill factor is that they really don't seem to be windproof. I'm keeping the pants and bought some insulated CWX tights to wear underneath. Hopefully that will do the trick. Otherwise, these may be best for spring skiing.

Did your tights work? And where and what condition do you usually wear this pants? (Temperature, weather...etc).

Great Pant, Wish There Were More Colors

By:
February 16, 2011

I really like these pants, but did have to size up so I could layer under them. I liked the length on them a lot (I'm 5'8", with a 33 inch inseam), and how technical they were. I really wish there were more color options though besides black and pink. In general I really like stoic stuff, but have been very disappointed with the color selection.

What size were you thinking of buying? I have the medium and they are perfect. They drag a bit when I don't have my ski boots on but are perfect and not too short when I have my boots on. I am 5'8" and have about a 30-31" inseam. Hope that helps.

pants look great

By:
January 31, 2011

I am so happy I bought these pants. They fit perfect and yet still have room for a couple of base layers and look awesome. The stretch in the fabric is just perfect for any wild tumbles and for not feeling constricted while traveling in the backcountry. Fabric works like a charm...lots of snow, warm temps, and never got wet through the pants.
I generally wear a size 4 and they fit perfect...
they are the bomb!

I'm about a 29 waist (I wear street pants size 28/29 or size 8 usually), and based on similar Stoic products it sounds like I should size up to the Large. Any recommendations on Medium or Large? I have a pair of Oakley ski pants (last year's model) size medium and they're HUGE, looking to replace.

Best thing is: Backcountry is running a promo on women's Stoic— if you're not sure what size to order, get two pairs and the return shipping is on them. Just one more reason to be totally obsessed with Backcountry.com.

Well I am a 27" waist and 34" hips and I got the medium. They fit absolutely perfectly. They are cut really feminine...if I had gone to a size small it would look like I was wearing spandex and I wouldn't even be able to fit my underarmour under them. Depending on what you are looking for I think that a medium or large would be great for you. They have the adjustment tabs on the side too to dial in the fit. The medium sits perfectly just on my hipbone and i can tighten it to sit higher on my waist if I want. Hope that helps.

I'm a 28" waist and ordered them in medium. It seemed pretty baggy so I ordered the small to see if it was any better. While it'd be nice if they had smaller sizing increments (ie sz 2,4 6, 8 etc) I've ended up going with the small. I recommend ordering 2 sizes if you're unsure.

Why doesn't the women's Stoic Bombshell pant have the

Why doesn't the women's Stoic Bombshell pant have the zip in bibs like the men's Bombshell pant? I currently have a pair of Volcom pants that have a zipper. I just sew the opposite side of a separating zipper to my powder skirt and it works great. Those pants are starting to wear out and I would love to replace them with a more durable product, but I won't purchase another pair of pants that don't offer additional snow protection. The attachable bib is a perfect solution, I'm super bummed!
