Description

Brutal winter weather has finally met its match.

Stand up to the wind whipping off the ridge and the wet, heavy snow pounding down from the sky while you're wearing the Stoic Women’s Bombshell Ski Pant. Shaped for the fairer gender specifically, these pants match the contours of your body and give you room underneath to layer up as needed. Three-layer Bombshell fabric has a flexible, mechanical stretch and breathes easily while you work up a sweat during long tours. These pants are tough enough for season after season of abuse at the resort, so put 'em through the paces and enjoy the storm.

  • 3-Layer Bombshell fabric offers 20K-rated weatherproof protection and supreme breathability so you're comfortable, not stifled, underneath this pant
  • Mechanical stretch fabric construction keeps this pant flexible so your mobility isn't hindered when you're fully-layered and battened down
  • Fully welded seams increase the Bombshell’s durability over standard taped-seam pants
  • 3-D ergonomic fit offers uninhibited mobility without drowning you in excess fabric—if you tend to like a roomier fit, size up
  • Mesh-lined thigh vents banish excess body heat during long boot packs
  • Two front and two rear pockets give you standard small-item storage while a larger thigh cargo pocket holds a small, folded map, compass, or some snacks
  • Powder gaiters slip over the tops of your boots to keep snow out on deep days

Don't size up!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I am 5'81/2", size 8 (39 hip, 29 waist). Based on all the reviews saying they ran small, I ordered the L in Boysenberry instead of my usual M. They are enormous and I could wear multiple bulky layers underneath. So sad to be sending them back. Great length, gorgeous quality and great technical features. The Boysenberry color is a beautiful dark raspberry or magenta color.

Love the fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

These fit really nicely, though run a little on the small side. They have a really good cut. The material is really light weight, so these make a great choice for backcountry touring.

Stylish pant, but lacks some function

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I am 5'2", 115lbs.. usually wear a size 25-26 jean and ordered a size small. These pants are a slimmer fit. I have used them in the resort and in backcountry. I like the weight, color, "look" and vents on the pants. The pockets are difficult to use. I can't fit anything bigger than my credit/card ID in the front pockets. Definite no on the iPhone. It is not easily accessible. I tried getting a beacon to fit in the cargo pocket. It was able to squeeze in, but not easy. For the price I will keep them for a resort/sledding pant.

as mentioned in other reviews, the flap over the cargo pocket is stitched shut on one side. stops it from flapping in the breeze, but makes it harder to reach in there, let alone with a glove. they're not too big either. flaps over back pockets are the same.

it's got kind of a burlap texture to it. i think it's cool.

Pants run small in size

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I am 5'6", 155 lbs and normally wear size large in ski pants. Another brand I own is a size large and is a little baggy on me. These pants run way to snug on me. They are tight in the butt and theigh area. Since they are not insulated I would have to wear fleece on colder days, but since these pants are too tight I would not be able to do that. So I returned them. The others were right...these pants probably run a whole size too small.

Really Nice Quality; Rise Is Short

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

The fabric of these pants is fantastic. Light, stretchy, yet waterproof and windproof=awesome. I will echo the other reviews that they are sized or cut a little weird. I like the athletic fit in the legs as it's slimming, but the fanny rise is too short--like low-cut jeans which is NOT what you want in ski pants. That being said, I do like them and all the pockets, but will make them my warmer weather ski pants as I can't layer enough under them (I ordered a M, I am 5'5" 125 lbs. with curves.) For the price, I am not unhappy but they could be better and I'd seek out more to buy!

Great value

got these for my wife off SAC. the fabric has a good feel and the stretch allows for full range of motion. the fit is pretty small; she normally wears xs but had to size up for these. the size smalls fit well though and have room for a layer on colder days. the adjustable waist band is great (especially since she's preggers) and the crotch doesn't have extra material that can chafe like some other pants. she may revise her review to 5 stars, but wants to spend more time in them and see how they feel when touring.

Bombshell pants and jacket on the wife

5 5

Had to get them For the Wife

I bought the bombshell jacket for my wife and she loved it so much had to get the pants to match. She loves them. She used to use insulated pants and love the fact that they are not insulated and can pick what she wants.

Not for the curvy

Too tight around the booty and too big around the waist. I returned them.

pants run long

I ordered these off sac, and went with size medium based on the reviews. I'm usually a small (130# 5'5"). They fit well except they are too long. I tried them on with my ski boots to make sure. There is quite a bit of sag in the legs below the knees for me. I would exchange for a small but the thighs are cut pretty slim, and I worry that a small will be too tight there. I don't mind a bit baggy but it didn't look good to me. probably good for all the telemarkers out there though. I am tempted to keep them to have a comfy pair of ski pants in a nice bright color though (and ones that fit over my ski boots, too, unlike my current pair!) If I do I will update my review after skiing in them.

I exchanged these for smalls, but they were too small. Generally that is my correct size. So my final thoughts -- Medium & Small don't have a lot of overlap -- in mediums I had waist cinched up pretty tight, and small's waist was too small for me. Thighs are slender on both (read: too tight in size small, and I'm not even telemarking this season!). Length was great in size small, a bit too long in medium. So consider sizing up. If you are tall, these would be great in the medium.

panting...

Size: 5'3" and 120 lbs
Size: Small
Fit: Tight, but long.

This is a super quality pant, especially for the lower price point. As many previous reviews stated, the sizing is ridiculously hard to pin down. These pants are long and lean, I am 5'3" and 120 lbs, the small fit ok, if not a tad on the tight side. I do wonder if I would have slightly better mobility in the medium. Hiking and sidestepping was somewhat inhibited by the tighter cut on these pants, but not so much that I was upset.

The fabric quality is great, they feel good. The cut is also very flattering. I paired this up with the Stoic Insulated Bombshell jacket and it's just delightful.

Not super wild about the side pockets - bad engineering. The flap is fixed, so that it is incredibly difficult to insert your palm into the pocket if you need to fish something out. I avoid using them. Pretty stupid, if you ask me.

I think with a few tweaks this pant could be GREAT, but it's worth it for the affordability vs. durability factor.

Funky sizing

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love stoic but sometimes have some trouble with their pants. I'm usually a medium but these seemed a bit big in the waist and small in the legs. If it wasn't for the sizing they would be 4 stars because it works great with the Bombshell Jacket!
