Whether you’re heading for Wasatch depths or Alps gnar, the waterproof breathable Stoic Bombshell Bib wields comfort and fit like Nature wields her elements. Fully-welded construction paired with mechanical stretch fabric creates a dynamic storm fortress that won’t inhibit movement, and the removable softshell bib offers options for changing conditions. Lock down the zippered gaiters when the day looks deep, and bust open the mesh-backed inner-thigh vents when it’s time to hike that line for one more ride. The Bombshell Bib’s Keprotech-reinforcements stand up to ski edges, crampons, and rock out cropping, and the bib suspenders adjust for deep or shallow days and the waist tabs offer another line of customization. These bibs love everything from hiking to riding the lifts, so Stoic’s 3-D ergonomic fit creates plenty of moving room for boot packing and skinning, without weighing you down in fabric.
Bottom Line: The bulletproof, waterproof breathable answer you’ve been pining for.

Use it for skiing primarily. I am 172cm/65kg, generally wear 30" waist jeans, and the size M is just right on me wearing it over padded protective shorts. The softshell part a little bit loose, but its nice for unrestricted freedom of movement and excessive upper body heat transport.
Smooth and sturdy bombshell material, no problems with tree-branches so far.
Waterproof, breathable but when it gets really cold (-25C and lower) I can feel wind-chill, so good layering is a must.
Full set of outer pockets. Bottom protective panels do protect from the ski edges due to the big and though-out coverage area. The gaiters are generous and accommodate any boot, but there is no way to make it sealed when it's deep.
My personal favorite - two bib pockets. Walkie-talkie, digicam, spare gloves etc, no need for backpack on resorts now. And I'm not afraid of broken ribs cause it's securely stored in warmth on belly, and not dangling around in my outer shell pockets and not interfere with my skiing. Bib-to-bottom zipper problem solved by couple of stitches, not a big deal but might be improved.
Issues I'd like to modify:
- the bib straps with velcro panels are folded towards the body, and the doubled part (especially the seam at the strap's end) is pretty thick and annoying right over my clavicle. I think to fold it towards the outer shell is more natural.
Also the straps "Y"-stem on the back could be ~10cm higher to make them more stable on the shoulders.
- bib-pants zipper tab fixation (may be some velcro).
- gaiters width adjustment (velcro flap?)
- outer pockets zipper pull-tabs are too subtle. I can hardly feel it in my ski gloves while trying to find it blindfold.
- side vent zippers, w/o mesh (could be nice for vent and to have access to your knees).
Not too much, though.
Having several Stoic garments now I can say that the fit is the biggest challenge buying Stoic. If it fits you - it's worth it (don't forget about SAC and geartrade).

Bombshell pants have a lot going for them. They're waterproof, comfortable, durable and look good.
These pants have held up well for, even after putting them through some rigorous days last year: think dragging skis while crawling through dense mountain maple and scrub oak. Or climbing up and down 4th class rock outcrops to get to the top of a chute.
Bib option is great for keeping snow from going up my back on deep pow days, otherwise I usually leave the bib attachement off.

I'm 6'1 175lbs large fits perfect
UPDATE: I bought last seasons Bombshell bibs and returned them because they were to big, so this season I got the correct size and after using them (not just trying them on in my house) they didn't seem to be the same. First of all the zipper that connects the bib to the pant is worthless!! I coudn't even get then pants on without the zipper coming apart which I would hate to have that happen while they are in action unless you want a couple chest pockets hanging from your shoulders. Also on a cold or windy day you will need some good layers as you can feel it. These are otherwise great pants but, unfortunatley I'm returning them not what I was expecting after the changes.

I got a pair of last season's bibs in the tangerine color (they had white zippers last year, and IMO, looked much better than with this year's black zippers) and they were great for the little time I used them in South America this past Southern winter. The two pickets on the bib are great. I generally used one of those two pockets for my beacon, instead of wearing the harness that comes with it much more streamlined and less bulky than using the beacon harness! I also tried putting a small digital camera in one of those pockets, and my sweat went right through into the pocket, so I do not recommend using those pockets for an iPod or digi cam, or anything like that. They're not quite as windproof as I would like on the coldest and windiest of days, the wind can definitely be felt through them, but with some nice insulation underneath, it's no big deal.As far as durability goes...we'll see. In just two weeks my edges did some work on the cuffs, but nothing that a bit of the silver tape can't fix.And finally, style. I love the look, and the compliments didn't stop coming on.I'm totally stoked on stoic!(Orange pants in photo or the stoics)
Oh, and I liked them enough to order another pair in black for this season! Thumbs up

Michael, the zipper holding the bib on seems to be the same as last years (which was never great, but it does stay on, though I do have to fix it every time I wear them (it usually slides open an inch or two while wearing them...)

Also I'm interested to see how the zipper that holds the bib on works for you!

I can confirm after having both now, that this years isn't the same. I thought last season's pants were great they were just to big for me so I returned them and tried this season's and I was surprised they made the change. I could feel the wind and cold go right through them.

Update: The material they made the 2010-11 model out of is totally different from the 2009-10 model. I would consider the old model to be a hardshell, and are relatively thick (not as thick as GoreTex XCR, but thick), compared to this years model which is super thin and light and soft (definitely closer to a softshell, on the spectrum.)
Seeing as I complained a bit of the wind resistance on last years thicker, burlier model, I'm a little worried about this years. Hopefully they'll stand up to heavy winds and big dumps. I'll update in a couple of months, hopefully with good news...

These Bibs felt a little tight at first but are now quit comfortable after only a few days of wearing. The 20K water proofing isn't 100% water proof, but even on a very wet day I stayed dry underneath. Not much else to say... they are pretty awesome.
Oh.. but one more thing... if you are thinking of getting these bibs in Orange with the Marmot Genesis Jacket in Blue... don't. I already have that outfit. Pictured below.
Change me.
