Here's what others have to say...

Great base layer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I wear this snowboarding, running, hiking, and walking the dog. I was worried about the itchiness, but it's completely fine. I don't mind the different neck zipper either. Maybe it's my imagination, but it seems to vent better. It also keeps me super warm. Really impressed.

It has a longer torso, which I love. I'm 5'6" so it doesn't hit too low. I like the snug fit, especially for running, so I'm not messing around with any loose clothing.

I love this top. I have nothing but good things to say about it!

Great base layer

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

5'2/medium frame/women's size10 usually; medium would have fit perfectly ( if not for exercise), but sized up to a large because it would have been pulling for high movement activity. My broad shoulders actually fit this top (usually an issue) and the length is generous (not the top for you if you dislike 'too long' tops). This shirt would have been perfect if it wasn't combined with poly (can't be too close to open flame).

Great styling

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Love the styling of this top!! Especially the off-center zip and the asymmetrical piping. I ordered the black/black/oxblood in XS. According to the size chart, I'm between XS-S in the chest, and XS in waist and hips. The XS is a good fit, but I will agree with previous reviewers that it is very slim through the waist and hips. I'm 5'2"; if I pull this down, it easily hits at/below my hip. I like the fit as it is though, whether wearing for skiing (tuck into pants) or running (not riding up). It is intended to be a baselayer, but if you plan to wear this OVER other items, size up. I love the color blocking and would order a second one in a crazy color combo if it became available in my size.

Would like one in every color please!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Ordered the black/black in a medium 2 months ago and was so stoked on it (seriously wore it everyday skiing!) that I just order another (black/oxblood) last week. One of the most comfy base layers I own and I really like that it is nice and long to tuck into my pants without ever pulling out. I am usually a big Patagonia and Icebreaker fan, but this top just moved Stoic to the front of the list. I swear, this layer acts like a lil oven ... super warm!

The fit is pretty right on. I generally wear mediums and this fit perfectly. It is fitted in the waist and is quite flattering compared to other boxy cut base-layers.

So freakin' slick

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

I fell in love with the black/oxblood as soon as I saw this shirt. [I wouldn't call the red "orangey" but it does have sort of a heathered look--not a dark red.] Come on, different colored sleeves??! How often do you see that?!
I usually get a small for my baselayer tops, but sized up to medium after reading the reviews. I'm 5'5", about 145 lbs--the trunk fits me well, but the sleeves and neck seem wider than necessary. NBD, cuz I'm totally digging it with the zipper undone, flapped down. The sleeves are long enough that I can rock the thumb holes with arms outstretched, and the black bottom seems to slim my post-holiday chub. Curved panels give it a sexy touch, but I can't help feeling a little Star Trek-y in it, for some reason...not necessarily in a bad way (?). It's soft enough to be really comfy, but not so soft that I'm going to stroke myself inappropriately in public. I'd give it 4 stars based on design/fit, but 5 for how happy I am with this purchase.

Made for a man?

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

Tapers from top to bottom, absolutely no widening for hips.

This may work for a taller person who likes shorter shirts, but at 5'1", 115 lbs, this thing didn't fit me at all. Came to hips, and was skin-tight (in a horrible way) from the waist down. Sleeves were also about 4 inches too long.

Also, the oxblood color has a lot more orange than what's shown in the picture.

What size did you try? I'm about your size and wondering if it's worth trying.

Responded on

Hmmm.
I am 5'3" and 120 lbs, went with size small and found these to be really really long. Flattering, but long, nice for keeping the wetness of snow out!

I liked them enough that I own 4.

Perfect Base Layer

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am very happy with this purchase. I wore this skiing on a very cold day, and I stayed very warm. It isn't scratchy at all. I normally wear a small, but I would suggest ordering up a size for a little flexibility.

Boarding/skiing = yes, backpacking = no

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this as a base layer for snowboarding and love it. The arms are nice and long and the fit is just loose enough that I can layer a tank underneath. I also climb, and I realized after wearing this shirt that it won't multi-task as a climbing/backpacking shirt since the zipper at the neck runs over the collarbone. Not a huge deal, as it's perfect for the snow and for wearing around the city, but worth noting if you're considering it for backpacking. Really nice fit, especially for women with broad shoulders, and a fun, super bright pink (boysenberry). I am 5'6", 135 and the small fits great. Wish I had snagged the black/coral, too!
UPDATE (JULY): Ok, now I've put it through the wringer AND worn it backpacking. It was just fine and didn't rub on my collarbone. All around WIN! Love this shirt!

So many great things to say...

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got a medium in this shirt and it fit great ( I am usually a medium). It's pretty long which is nice. The thumbholes help it layer up comfortably. The waist was a bit big but that is a common problem in shirts for me. Excellent layer for skiing. It kept me warm all day! I love the black and coral combo!

Instant Favorite

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Straight from the lady's mouth:

I was given this base-layer for Christmas and it instantly became my favorite, cutting most of my other base-layer tops out of their weekly rotation spots. The fit is tight but the fabric is so soft and lightweight that I don?t feel constricted. I wear it skiing and the length and merino wool keep my feeling super warm even on the coldest days. Love the fit, love the color (Light Jade/ Dark Jade) and I can easily see myself using this top for hiking in the spring and summer.

Good looking and functional

I got one for myself and than had to get one for my friend because she fell in love with mine. Great layering piece - and very stylish. Like that the zip is to the side so it doesn't rub under the chin. Has a small concealed pocket in the back - good for an ID, nano, cash - small items. Super long which I love that I can tuck in my boarding pants and not have it ride up. Super long sleeves. This is a slimmer cut so I wear it next to skin. Also like the PP/ MERINO blend - anti stink, quick drying and less itchy than 100% merino.

cool style but..

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i really like this top. it looks cool and i like the side zipper and hidden pocket a lot. i have worn it several times, but i would wear it every day if the fabric were softer. hoping itll soften up a bit after several washings.

Solid Pick

I was gifted this one as a baselayer for skiing.
For how thin the Merino fabric is, this top is incredibly warm and insulating. Merino is super soft, and I do appreciate the offset zipper to help avoid a zipper traffic jam near the chin area.

Fit is actually quite flattering! I like wearing this as a casual piece around town as well, makes a nice transition from skiing to apres. The hem on the back hits quite low, which I appreciate as well. There is also a hidden zipper pocket in the back, I didn't even realize it was there until months later. I do think the sleeves on this shirt are unusually long. If I am not using the wrist gaiters, I have to fold them up.

I do think I may order another!

I am 5'3" and 120, the size small works great.

Update: bought 2 more, LOVE them!

Great Baselayer for Snowboarding

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this in Coral, which like everyone says is more of a pink (and so pretty!). I am 5'7" and 140 lbs, got it in size Medium and very happy with the long arms as well as the long torso. It fit well, little room but not snug/tight (like my Arc'teryx Eon SLW Hoody baselayer in size Medium).

The side zipper is genius! it creates less bulk under the neck. It's a great baselayer for Snowboarding, and I'll probably wear it hiking and backpacking as well.

great shirt

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great shirt! Fits true to size and I love how long it is and that sleeves are long with thumb holes. The top is long enough to cover the butt and doesn't bare my back when I bend. I've used it as a base layer for skiing several time and love it, very stylish and comfy. I got this top in 2 colors - coral and light jade.

Hey, can anyone tell me what size you got...

Hey, can anyone tell me what size you got and how it fits for your build? I'm 5'3, ~125 and it's always up in the air whether I need a small or medium depending on brand. Thanks!

you'd probably be good with small. I got medium and I'm much bigger than you - 6 ft tall and much heavier.

This is a really cool-looking top. The side zip is good because it's more comfortable to wear zipped up than front zips, but you probably wouldn't want to wear it around unzipped either. The color blocking makes it very stylish. Agree with other reviewer about coral color, it is way way lighter than pictured, only ever so slightly orangey pink.

The zipper on the neck is a little weird, but all in all a good layer for your outdoor adventures, it fits well and isn't itchy or anything.
