Your friend just had a wet exit in a class V rapid. While your buddies pull him from the water, clip his boat with the Stohlquist Re-Traxt Tow-Tether, and bring it to shore. Made with shock-loaded tubular webbing, the Re-Traxt stays close to your side when not in use. Connect the 1 ¾in ring of this Stohlquist tether to the releasable strap on your type-V PFD, and the included paddle biner is ready to clip the grab loop on your friend's boat.

This tow tether was bought as a replacement for a similar tether with a shoe lace inside it as the retraction mechanism. The old one always extended while kayaking, this new one doesn't have that problem, is long enough to actually tow with (in my H2 255), and the biner is large enough for warner paddle shafts. Overall 10/10, it simple and well made.
