A long-lasting rope for plastic pulling.

You can rely on the Sterling Rock Gym Climbing Rope when you're taking whippers over and over on your plastic project. This big rope boasts a fat 10.4 mm diameter for prolonged durability and great handling. Despite its thick diameter, its sheath won't slip or fall apart so you can pull on all that plastic for many years.

    Don't like the sheathing

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a climbing wall for Middle Schoolers and I didn't like the way the sheathing on the Climbing Gym roped heated up when belaying. After my initial impression, I compared this rope with my normal outdoor climbing rope; I could hang by my hands on the outdoor rope (tried hanging on ropes from different companies) and my hand held its position on the outdoor rope, but when I tried the same with this climbing gym rope my hand immediately started to slide and heat up. This is not the rope that I want to use with young/new belayers.

    Solid gym rope.

Super easy to handle, great priced rope. Length isn't an issue in my smaller-sized gym, and it slides through a gri-gri like butter. We take victory whips on this thing for fun, leaving the last one or two draws un-clipped. Ill post a video of this later. Keep in mind this is NOT and outdoor rope. If you are planning on climbing outside, go with a more durable, 45-60 meter rope.

does "pull on plastic" in any way mean "indoor only"? because my home gym (top rope) wall is outside. obviously i dont plan on just leaving my rope out overnights or in the rain but can it handle the florida humidity and general top rope use outdoors?

It means it's designed for gym use, but really the only parts of it that are appreciably different are the length (only 100 ft) and the thickness (thicker than most). It's also not waterproof. But in terms of durability in the sun and on rocks outdoors, or on your outdoor gym wall, it'll be just as good as any other rope.
