The Sterling Raptor 9.8mm x 60m climbing rope is this season's best deal from Sterling. Made from a special Sterling shealth, the black, white, and yellow pattern is a limited production design. At 62g per meter, you'll be able to traipse merrily from route to route. Not only do you get a great sport and trad climbing rope, but you also get a 3 x 4ft nylon coated protective tarp. The Raptor is not a dry rope, so the tarp will help keep your rope clean, helping your rope live a long, healthy life.

I was really psyched to get this rope and try it, being lightweight and thin. The rope is very light coils nicely, and all that, but the sheath took such beating on the very first outing that I was very disappointed. Use for your hardest redpoints, but leave this one at home for general cragging! Fatties still do the best, IMHO.

Not too thick, not too thin, seems to be just right. Also the best price for ropes in it's class.
