The Sterling Mini Cord Spool has a million-and-one uses on a backcountry trip, from making guylines for your tent to replacing your busted shoelaces. This tight-weave kernmantle cord is perfect for stringing up your dinner to keep it away from bears, tying your tarp between two trees, lashing your sleeping pad on to your backpack, making a clothes line, or anything else you can think of. The list goes on and on. *Assorted colors.

Bottom Line: The Sterling Mini Cord Spool has as many uses as a Swiss Army Knife when you're on a long backpacking trip.

I have cut this into 8ft sections to use as guylines for my tent. Super strong, light, and thin. I have also used this to replace shoe strings and fix a strap on my backpack. This has so many uses and for only $8 you have got to get it!

Well you would do it in the drop down menu right beside the picture, above the add to cart button, but currently they seem to be out of stock.

Compact and lightweight

I like the size of this spool and think that it will be nice alternative to tie up food. The main advantage of the smaller diameter is the length, but you loose some versatility by it not holding as much weight.

Not bad.

This spool is compact enough that I will pack it along this year, using it to tie my food bag up and away from critters. I am not sure if 100 lb test is strong enough to hold my tarp securely, but I'll give it a try. It seems that this size would be best suited for making ditty bags or securing things that don't require a lot of tension. If you need that, go with the 3mm.

Fabulous ROPE!!

By:

This is really good rope! Since it is small I am able to carry it wherever I go. I have hung clothes from it so they will dry, after the sling to my rifle broke I made one with this string, used it as shoe laces, etc. You cannot go wrong with this rope...So useful!!
