Even though it is still the underappreciated, red-headed kid of the snowboard industry, Stepchild has a secret weapon to take on the corporate goons—JP Walker and the Stepchild JP Walker Snowboard. Expect a highly responsive all-mountain freestyle stick that can handle everything from the longest rail you can find to the biggest hits you’ll ever attempt.

  • Kicker III core is mostly poplar (light and flexible) with dense beech wood along rails and under bindings where hard riders need added resilience
  • Round Edge Tapered Tuning (R.E.T.T) feature means pre-dulled edges between the bindings that gradually get sharper toward nose and tail so you can attack rails right away
  • Armadillo Plate fiberglass re-enforcement layer is placed over the inserts for added strength under foot
  • Quadrax fiberglass layer adds pop and rebound
  • Structurn die-cut base is pre-waxed and fast as hell for immediate shredability
  • True twin shape rides the same with your bindings or head on backwards

Here's what others have to say...

Do all of the sizes have detuned edges...

Do all of the sizes have detuned edges (RETT) or is it only the 157cm?

Responded on

found out only the ones listed as rett come with the detuned edges.

Sick board

Gotta love the feel of the detuned edges. It's floaty, yet handles fine on jumps. I'd go a size smaller than you'd expect, because its relatively stiff for a short board. I ride a 147, and I'm 5'7".... just 2 cm longer board than what i was riding at 5' tall in 7th grade. The base is super fast with some Dakine Nitrous Cake Wax, and the structurn base holds up to anything you throw at it... rails, boxes, rocks, ice, trees, whatever.

so this is a regular cambered board?

has anyone ridden it?

pros/ cons?

such a fresh board! light poppy and buttery! its medium flex. its great for park it handles speed well and boosts jumps and destroys rails. regular camber jp doesnt need rocker to lock into a super press switch son!
