The unrivaled Rival.
The Spyder Boys' Rival Jacket lets him ski all day so he can grow into the professional he dreams of becoming. Its Xt.L laminate provides reliable waterproof breathable protection, and critical seams are taped to keep water out in places most likely to let water in. Spyder also treated the Rival with a Spylon+ DWR coating for additional water-shedding protection, and 3M Thinsulate provides an abundance of warmth in a thin package. The Rival also features a protective powder skirt for the snowy days, a removable hood for the sunny days, and internal stretch cuffs with thumbholes. An anti-abrasion overlay film by Bemis provides long-lasting durability so he can ski in this jacket for multiple seasons.

- Q & A
Love this jacket!
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: Boys 14
So glad I read the reviews of different boys Spyder jackets because everyone says they run small. They definitely do. I like to buy in the spring because of the sales. My son currently wears a 10, which he is outgrowing. I planned on getting him a 12 to wear in the fall and to wear skiing next winter. Because it runs small, I ordered a 14. I'm so glad I did! A 12 definitely would've been too small. I gave 5 stars because quality looks great, although my son won't make it through a season until spring 2017. Hoping quality lasts so I can hand it down to my younger son.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

looks to be a great jacket, a little surprised there is no drawstrings to tighten the hood or waist.
- Fit: True to size
My son loves this jacket - it is warm and has all the features he uses for downhill skiing, but after wearing it for less than two months, the velcro has ripped out of both cuffs. The construction is just not great. He's never been particularly hard on his clothes, and for a jacket of this price, I was expecting (a lot) more. Very disappointing.
