The Spyder Men’s Patsch US Ski Team Hooded Softshell Jacket is as comfortable as your favorite cotton hoody, with added US Ski Team awesomeness like wind and water protection. With Spylon DWR added to the breathable polyester fabric, this jacket is great as an outer for spring skiing or just kicking around town. Spyder teamed up with the US Ski and Snowboard Association so you can show support for Olympic athletes. And thanks to the superior quality of the garment, you’ll be showing support of future winter athletes for many games to come.

Bottom Line: Throw the hood over your head and get out there—or just hang out and watch some skiing on the tube.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

rob2978182,
Thanks for your question. The Patsch softshell is a pretty casual piece that is suitable for spring riding, outside of general pedestrian use. I don't think the hood volume on the Patsch is enough to cover a snow helmet. I hope this is helpful for you.

Great jacket on or off ski slope

Just bought the red one. Love it. Wife thought it looks better than expected. I wear it to work, dropping kids off at school in the morning, during late afternoon jog, inline skating, and on ski slopes. Hood is big enough to cover my helmet. I usually wear size medium for Northface jackets. However, I bought size large per Backcountry's staff recommendation. It fits well.

decent jacket....

had this for almost 2 years now....before this USSA edition, mine is just the basic Patsch.holding up very well so far... the DWR treatment is still effective, but like it says "resistant".... it doesnt handle a constant rain. Hood has great coverage, and it does breath decently as a whole. The forearms seem tight, but that could just be my caveman arms....all in all, a solid jacket i always find myself wearing time and time again.
