The Spyder Men's Nordwand Shell Pant handles bluebird days in the backcountry and stormy days at the resort without batting an eyelash. Its three-layer Xt.L laminate offers exquisite waterproof breathable protection that keeps you dry when you plow through knee-deep powder, and the fully taped seams and DWR coating offer additional waterproof protection that fends off stormy weather. Spyder constructed the Nordwand from Pertex Shield, a lightweight but seriously durable fabric that can bash through trees without tearing and stand up to years of abuse like it's no big deal.
The Nordwand also features waterproof zippers at the inseam that let out some steam when you work up a sweat plowing your way up skin tracks and bootpacks. Powderap gaiters allow you to slide your boot's power strap through the gaiter in order to completely seal out snow, and a neoprene waist gasket offers even more coverage along with loads of breathability. Spyder also engineered the Nordwand with a Recco avalanche rescue system for extra in-bounds safety, and it included zippered hand pockets to keep your trail maps and lip balm safe and handy.
