The best of bros.

The Spyder Men's Bromont Jacket is your best bro when it comes to the ski resort. Spyder equipped the Bromont with everything you need for the ski season, including an Osmo waterproof membrane, PrimaLoft's supremely soft Silver insulation, and a Spylon+ DWR treatment for additional water-shedding protection. The Bromont also features an anti-abrasion overlay film by Bemis for long-lasting durability, and its stretchy shell and lining provide extra mobility and comfort.

Spyder's core ventilation system utilizes two large zippers for ventilated airflow, and the powder skirt protects you from snowy weather while the removable hood helps you enjoy the sunny weather a little better. This jacket also has internal stretch cuffs with thumbholes, a drawcord adjustable hem, waterproof zippered hand and chest pockets, and a chamois lens wipe inside the data card pocket.

Spyder Bromont

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 6' 0"
    Weight: 215 lbs
    Size Purchased: Extra Large

My old Spyder was nearing 20 years old, so it was time to replace.

Pros: The Bromont is probably 1/2 the weight of my old one. I like the small pocket down on the left arm, holds my chapstick. I like the waist liner/tightener powder skirt. I like what I call the neck gaitor, but my old jacket had a snap there also. Hand pocket interiors seem the same size..

Cons: Not as many pockets, and the breast pockets do not hold my wallet, and my iphone barely fits. No zipper hood pocket to stash the hood like in my old coat(hood removed and stashed in closet never to be seen again) No snaps to ensure my jacket zipper is sealed up.(but I never used that anyway).

Jury still out on the Interior Stretch Cuffs(go over hand with thumb and fingerholes) to hold my sleeves down over my mittens. I like the idea, but feels weird. The goggle pocket seems pointless at this time.

Bought he 2014 model for my son

  • Fit: True to size

First fall on the terrain slope got it BURNED in one spot, it looks like a cigarette burn. The fabric is so thin and fragile... it's so not worth it. Otherwise it is warm and has all the nice features, plus the color that is visible from anywhere on the slope. Too bad it cannot be kept in one piece!

Responded on

Your son gets a cigarette burn on his new Spyder jacket and you buy the story that it happened in a fall? Are you serious? I'm gonna guess he's a teen and I'm gonna guess he smokes weed or cigs or both. This jacket cannot get a cig burn mark from a fall on the snow.

What is the center back length of a medium?
